Hi I was just wandering if someone could teach me how to combine mods/ have them all running at once so I can have 4 extra races if not more e.g forerunner dominion breen reman hence every players race would be different. Otherwise is group of people or someone able to make a super race mod with an exe that adds all the races the community has contributed. Making it sort of like a community mod were everyones efforts have gone into it. thanks in advance to everyones help and advice. (plz note I cant mod to save myself haha but i think im getting there very slowly) from Seb

About you not being able to mod, I have one word for that - nonsense! Anyone can mod Armada II. Anyone at all. All it takes is a lot of patience, a little sweat, and the ability to be prepared to fail the first time out. No one I know 'round here gets it exactly correct the first time. All of my stuff available here failed spectacularly the very first time I tried to run it. I do not think anyone else who's released something here or anywhere else for that matter, will say different.

There are a few threads throughout the boards here which describe what you are wanting and how the poster accomplished this. I do not recall the exact titles of the threads I am speaking of but I do remember seeing them.

Your 'super race mod with exe(auto-installer, I am guessing)' sounds like an excellent first project. I'd like to help you out with making it. Personally, I do not like installers which do everything for me because my custom install has about 1.54GB of addons and mods. Makes my A2 install a little fragile.

This multiple race thingy is not so hard, but it eats lots of time. And finaly, you will be able to do some your things like new weapons, weapon effects , textures etc.

And thunderfoot is correct. My mod has 1.8 GB, It is not so hard for sharing, but mod of this size is hard to rellease. Because of permissions. (try to get permission on everything in the mod and you will see what I mean :D )

Well it took me a long while (longer so to reply here) I looked at how the installers were changing certain files for the mods and basically I copied all the changes to word pad then entered them all in the armada2 files. it took ages to get it to work correctly without armada 2 immediately crashing but I managed to pull it off I effectively have my version of armada 2 running dominion, breen, forerunner. (and reman if i recall) effectively having that each player gets their own unique race which I think is great. Its been a fair few months since I did it so I cant officially remember everything I edited. But if anyone is interested I can always email the various files I manually changed. If I recall I basically installed the mods then changed about 3 files to incorporate everything from the 3 mods till i got it correct.

That's excellent news, trek54. Something to be proud of-- your first success in making mods fit into each other. Good luck getting other mods to work together. There should be lots of them (present and future mods) for you to choose from, and now you know what it takes to get them to co-operate. If anything breaks down, though, that's why the forums are here. :)
