ok well like i sed just need to do the hps then it will be done
Okay.... can't wait.
I'm curious where the Delphin stands. Someone said they're cracking at it. And I was wondering where the model currently is in terms of progress.

The fastest way to guarantee your requests go unanswered is to ask too frequently for progress updates. No one's going to drop everything they want to do in order to satisfy your wish list. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. We haven't had new ships for weeks, months sometimes, when they're in the works. Try to bear that in mind.
Also, I recommend scouring through total conversions and other Federation mod content. Some of the ships you're looking for may be found in there. Some other awesome ships you haven't even heard of are there waiting for you, too.
Thx 4 the tip
Okay.... just to ask.... can anyone convert MAX or 3DS format files into Armada Format? Just a little question. I came across some high res models that I'd like to take a crack at. Basically I may need a slight poly Reduction. High poly is not a problem as long as it isn't overboard (Over 10,000 polies). But I can fairly handle anything under 8500 polies. I just want to know. Because if nobody has experience with this. Then I can always ask exterior forums. I might be able to convert the textures myself. But that is if it is either bmp, jpg, gif, tiff, tga, dib, or some other common format (that is recognized by standard photoshop programs).
1337_M0DD3R. Just a piece of advice. Whilst your pc may have a good amount of power, having models of anything higher than 2.5k in polys for either Armada game will cause lag. RTS games have never been made to run high poly models to a high degree. I actually ran several tests with various models from 5k up to about 20k and found that these tended to cause lag, especially when in heavy combat. My pc specs are as follows (just to give you an idea):
- P4 3.0ghz single core processor - 3gb DDR1 ram - 256gb geforce 6200 graphics
Whilst this isn't top of the range, its still pretty decent and I've tended to be able to run almost any game at more or less the maximum level said game can provide. That being said, its your choice, but I would be loath to try converting models higher than the value I said above.
No, but even so its not a good idea. For LODs its been suggested in the past to have the highest at around 3k tops (and thats for a ship/station at the top end of the tech tree) with the lowest being around 1k. Of course that depends on the model itself.
I agree with Major Payne. I run a AMD QuadCore (3.0Ghz, 2GB Ram, 512MB Raideon X1600 Pro video card) and I still get lag with high poly models as seen when I play Fleet Operations.
i have a dual core 2.4ghz processor 4gb ram (3gb usable) and a nvidia geforce 9200m gs graphics card and i notice lag with fleetops (if graphics on max and if in a fleet battle) so if your planning on releasing the mod then it will need to be lower specs as thats the main problem people have bout fo is that there system struggles to support it
but anyway i can convert max files if there done on 3dmax2009 or earlier and i can convert 3ds files but to get them into a2 they will need to be able to be supported by ms3d as i cnt export in 3dmax and ms3d cant support huge polies
@ Payne... lol i guess i need to do some cleanup on my JJPrise... lmao
