I was looking through the code for A1 and found some stuff that looks like it might be some undiscovered odf lines. I haven't tested them yet, but they are:

AllowMultipleSpecialWeaponFire MultipleFire minimumShotTimer AShotTimer shotTimer

I think these may allow for firing multiples of the same special weapon with one button (the first line) and bust fire weapons (the other four lines).

I also found some references to 'carriers' but I'm not entirely sure if it was referring to fighter carriers. It also looked like 'carrier' may be a class label of some sort.

Interesting find, now the question becomes are they modable and which class label(s) will they work with. Keep us posted with the research.

Very interesting, have you found any similar code in A2? Would be fun to find out what these ODF commands may do. I think burst fire would be on a lot of people's lists, especially for the Defiant class ships.

I couldn't get anything out of these. I couldn't even get the game to crash. In the mean time, I've released a makeshift quantum torpedo burst weapon that occurred to me while I was playing Fleet Ops. It fires three torpedoes at the same time that spread out in flight due to different movement speeds. It seems to work pretty well and if the hardpoint for the weapon is, for instance, under the saucer of a Sovvy or Galaxy you can't even tell the difference. It might be more noticeable if you can see the hardpoint from a top down view.

And now for a completely unrelated question, can anybody get on to Fleet Ops' site or is it just me that can't get on?
