Hey guys, I used to be an avid AII gamer. Took 4 years off from touching it, and now I am getting back into it with my little brother. We are not playing online, but are making our own maps, and I am attempting to mod the exsisting ships of the federation, and add a couple ships, or stations. This is proving more difficult then I thought. I remember a few years ago there was a program that allowed me to edit weapons and statistics on vessels and stations EASILY. Pretty much click, and drag. I can not seem to find a program like this now. It has either dissapeared, or been forgotten. I forget the name of it unfort. If anyone has any clue as to what I am refering to and could give me a hand finding it, or getting something else to edit my ODF files with. It would be appriciated. I have tried all the files availible for d/l on Here\/ http://armada2.filefront.com I can not find the program I onced used. All these are to complicated for me. Unless I am simply doing it wrong. I also tried adding a Prometheus Class Tactical vessel to my Federation fleet but was un-successful in doing so. I had to edit to many files, and ended up re-installing my game as a result. Anyone had this issue before? Ok, wow, long post. Sorry guys. 3 questions in one there. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks much. Scincerly, Steve

Well there are a couple programs people have made to open odf files. (Witch I'm supposing the file you wish to edit) However you simply just open and edit the file in wordpad, notepad or similar programs. Turn the files readonly off and just open it in word thats what I do.

That is very odd. I dont understand how your modifications aren't working. Well Is the prometheus the stargate one or a different one? And if you could show us what files your trying to edit and where your trying to edit them we could probably help more. Just copy and past the contents into a post.

My suggestion go to Armada 2 Files and download Westworld's Big Book of Modding it has everything you need for basic modding. ;)

Hi steve, and welcome back. :)

I am not sure what you used, but there is one good editor available for download named STATE;

http://armada2.filefront.com/file/STATE_Star_Trek_Armada_Two_Editor;58470

Browsing through our downloads I think you might have used Spectre's ODF editor:-

http://armada2.filefront.com/file/ODF_Editor;6753

I hope this helps.

Oh well, I guess you can just use Notepad or Wordpad to open the files. As for editing them, if you don't know how, feel free to copy and paste the block of text that is giving you trouble. Many people here will be glad to help you.
