I am planning on starting a mod; however, as this will be my first, I have absolutely no experience. It is planned on allowing the player to start out as a fledgling empire, with only one warp-capable ship. As he researches new technologies (which I will need help designing), he will progress from pre-TOS to post-Voyager, with the Scimitar, Prometheus, and other advanced ships. If you have a file that you believe should be added, please put it on this link. It should: 1. be a Star Trek ship 2. Be relatively cannon (no 5-warp-nacelle ships!) 3. Be of good quality. Just a few quick things: 1. I am just planning on using Feds, Roms, Klings, and the Borg. 2. Any special weapons would also be useful. 3. The Klings and Borg don't have known original ships, so (almost) anything goes. Thanks again.

When you say that the Klingon Empire doesn't have any known original ships, what do you mean? The D6 and D7 classes, as well as the various Bird of Prey variants, have been in service for almost the entire history of the Empire

Well, I think I'll change the mod to Armada 1, and maybe release another version for A2.

Do you know of a way to convert ships from armada 1 to 2?

Armada 1 SOD model files and their respective TGA texture files will work fine in A2 without any editing to them. The ODF's must be changed though for A2 so that the hardpoint number refences are the same as the A1 versions. Unless stated though Armada 2 ships are not compatible with Armada 1.

Well, I changed my mind again...

I've decieded to change it back to A2, because I have a good modding tool for it already. However, any maps would be appreciated. The races I will have are:

1. Federation 2. Klingon 3. Romulan 4. Borg

Any maps, suggestions, and ideas are still welcome!

Some more news. I am planning on dividing this into several sections. These should be: 1. Pre-TOS This has only one or two ships per race, along with one station. To upgrade, the Pre-TOS station needs to build a construction ship, build the Pre-TOS Shipyard, and research "Level Up to TOS" at the station. Then, the TOS shipyard will become available. Also, mining stations are available with, hopefully, a Space Shuttle used for a mining ship. 2. TOS This should eventually have about five or six ships per race, along with a phaser turret, Basic Research Station, and TOS Shipyard, and TOS Station. To reach the next era, the player must update/have the Pre-TOS Construction Ship, Pre-TOS Shipyard, and Pre-TOS Station to their next stage. They also must research "Level Up to TNG" at the Basic Research Station. Be aware, updating costs dilithium and metal. 3. TNG In this era, many more familiar ships appear. I will try to use as few stock ships as possible, but in some cases that might be impossible. The Advanced Phaser Turret, Photon Torpedo Turret, TNG Construction Ship, TNG Shipyard, TNG Station, and Advanced Research Station become available. To upgrade to the next era, you must upgrade/have the TNG construction ship, TNG shipyard, TNG Station, and research the "Level Up to Post TNG". 4. Post TNG This, the final era, includes a few of the ships from TNG, but also introduces many more. The PTOS Construction Ship is able to construct all TNG stations, but also the Heavy Phaser Turret, Advanced Torpedo Turret, PTNG Station, PTNG Shipyard (where all super-advanced ships are created), and Super Tech. ****************************** To "update" stations, I plan on using the little-thought-of "evolve" fuction. Always used by 8472, it changes one thing into another. It will update ships, stations, and some technology. ****************************** The Borg will be very interesting to play against. They will not have any era function. They have the ability to build any ship, as soon as they research the tech for it. Their ships are also horribly powerful, with one cube being able to wipe out fleets - like Star Trek! To counteract this, I plan on having the Borg take about one minute thirty seconds a sphere. The cube will take about five to ten minutes. Finally, their ultimate ship will take about fifteen minutes. However, it is nearly indestructable. ******************************* Well, please post any suggestions!

I was wondering, how do you set up the "evolve" function?

(I guess I should have thought of this before posting...)
