Medafusion. You might want to check the poly count of the model as I think its quite high. Still just to let you know I already made a personal request to make a lower poly rebuild but you should be fine as I was given permission to do this. Just make sure to issue those full credits and you'll be fine. Either that or you can wait a few days and I'll see if I can sort it out by then.

Well heres the first WIP. The original poly count was around 4024. Initial test reduction (see image below for changed section) is now 3718, and this is around 20% of the mesh rebuilt. Now I'm going to stick my neck out and say I'm aiming for about 1000 polys with this but it might be lower. Let me know what you think. If its not suitable (even though it looks very similair its a little boxy compared to the smoothness of the original, but thats the price you pay for poly reduction), then the poly count may be somewhat higher.

Depends on what else you've got on screen and thats been built by the AI. Most hardware could probably get away with about half a million polys in any one game, but then it depends on how much is loaded, game setup (graphics mode, etc.etc). I know that me personally, having used 3dmax which is pretty intensive on my pc hardware has had FractalSponges 1.5 million poly ISD rendered on a modelised background (I think the planet I used was around 80,000 polys and mounted on a star background), and my own pc handled this fine. As with all model rendering its just down to hardware more than anything.

Perhaps it can Sherman2. However, its down to pc hardware. Plus you have to remember that theres a hell of alot of sprites involved as well. I've noticed torpedo sprites tend to cause the most problems.
Class label them as Pulse phasers then! they look the same.
