Hi I'm trying to convert a ship from nif format to sod with MS3D 3 Meshes , almost 5000 faces and verticles , 3 materials and 33 bones First I imported nif file and saved as MS3D then I added few weapon hardpoints and exported it to Armada 2 SOD Well , there is a file but no model inside. When I exported it to MOD and next used CV to save it as SOD , the model was OK but all weapon hardpoints were faced forward. Is there something wrong with MS3D? HELP!!!

did you remember to add mesh nodes to the model in Ms3d? for the three groups and three materials you need to have three mesh nodes...i.e. sechull is the group name...sechull is the material name..and m_sechull would be the node name...and dont' forget to make it a child of the h_root joint and be sure all of your hardpoints are children of h_hardpoints...try that out. If you're still having problems contact me on MSN and Ill see if I can help you.

I wasn't aware that the model would export to .SOD correctly if you didn't add the group names in the hardpoints and such (nodes). Whenever I've named them wrong, or have forgotten one, I've had an error message telling me such.

if you forget to put "m_" before the mesh names..it will still export it..but there will be no model when you view it...but hopefully one saves it as an MS3D first..because if you then try to reimport it into Milkshape..you will import a blank model with hardpoints only..so be careful..and save often...

That's assuming you have the non-stock importer that most of us don't have;)
