I just started my own retexure project for online play using all the stock textures,without any modding to the models of course..there's no website or anything.Just me sending in packs to the submission service.
Pack 1 should be coming in shortly. It includes a complete re-work of the fbattle,kbattle,and fgalaxy sets..with accompanying assimilation textures.

I must say, that is indeed a good improvement over the stock stuff. I suggest release it in a single pack, or perhaps a joint venture with Freyr.

The Galaxy looks very good indeed, but the Sovereign looks like it uses the top saucer texture for the bottom of the saucer. You should also change the color of the Sovereign's deflector dish to orange

I must compliment you on your work. Those ships (mainly the kbattle & fgalaxy) look stunning, I'm not too keen on the Sovereign though, but still. ;) Oh, and there is the Sovereign Saucer problem, which Gavin has already pointed out. I think that needs some work, but other than that, congrats.
Ya know..I really didnt notice until you pointed it out..the soveriegn's bottom CAN be changed! I just went with what was already there and textured over that..i'll update the soveriegn in my next pack.

Ok I've just finsihed the soveriegn fix and completed the final galaxy class with about 98% of deemon's textures.. heres the soveriegn screen..
and heres the final galaxy..note that the glaxy has a huge issue with the delector array within the actual sod model itself which warps the texture at certain angles,i cant fix this,but its barely noticeable at most angles.The same issue is present where the saucer meets the hull under the bottom which warps the texture as well...
im uploading them now so they should be up soon.
i highly suggest getting this fix for both ships.

Looking much better now indeed.
You won't get perfection out of stock models as they and the game was created at a time where machines were much slower and couldn't handle good quailty and medium (1500-2500) size poly counts onscreen in large amounts.
You have done a good job with these and make a great addition to the game when also using Freyr's Upgrade Project with your retextures.
hey thanks :) i was gonna focus on cardassian stuff today and a few others,but these deserved a quick fix.so i went ahead and just finished em. Edit: lol @ yahoo mail.. im on my thrid submit attempt after two failures due to yahoo ads being inserted into my files. SOMEHOW..yahoo changed my ALWAYS default mail settings from plain text to HTML with graphics..which seems to be causing the message rejections.. anywayz...maybe third times the charm..lol Edit: well im disgusted with trying to submit this update after 3 tries and keep getting the failure notice. maybe when i feel like sitting on dial up for and hour and a half to submit a file..i may re submit it. Edit: here's an early concept of the first cube you can create bbattle...i like this look for the stock texture myself.sure beats the original..especially for using online. and not to mention the fact i have altered the bumps for bbattle to give of some lighting around what is supposed to be raised edges of the cube vs. edges deeper in the cube..trick is to invert the new texture and save as the bump tga..it highlights on the cube the white areas of the bump onto the cube..thus giving you a cool lighting effect. heres the screen of it..
to get an idea of what im talking about..notice the brighter lighting on the new outer frame to the cube.its edges actually will reflect back light from the surroundings..heh pretty cool...spin around the cube and watch the light reflect of the frame..not bad for a stock texture over a stock model...without an alpha channel. this may be nothing new as far as what the bump map actually is for..i dont know! lol..but it works for this effect as well.i assume the bump is for smoothing edges or something..heh.
