what do i need to change a normal phaser into a special weapon with build button and a need to target?? which odfs do i need and how are the command settings for such a weapon?? thanx for your help :)

In the original Armada 2 game there is a weapon called myotronic beam used by the Romulan Raptor class. That's the solution. I've used the odf to create an antiproton canon.

you meen the Myotronic Inhibitor, this isno phaserbased weapon it has a sod for the shot geometry and that way to complicated for me there must be a simpler way of dooing this. :confused:

You should be able to copy and paste some codes to make the phaser do what you want. I've started to play around with integrating weapons onto other ships. You could probably try making a copy of the file and then giving new name and stuff and then changing as you need. That's what i would advise but i'm by far no expert. You could always use Q powers if any of us had them. lol, jk

Tain_Enabran has the right idea; wrong weapon though.

In the original Armada 2 game there is a weapon called Psychonic Blast used by the Romulan Shadow class. That's the solution. Just change the weapon effects to deliver damage and nullify the 'percentage of crew taken' to .000 instead of .50 --an example of this is already present in the game caled 'gnttblst.odf' and its corresponding 'nttblst.odf'.

Sorry it's the Shadow class psychonic blast as the Starfleet Kid mentioned. I don't often use them this time and I'm a bit confused.

Would not the cardi plasma cannon also work? I don't mod A2 that much but it seems like it could work easy enough with a tweak here and there. But I wonder, why can't one just make the normal phaser into a special weapon.
