How do I use multiple downloaded ship in Armada 2 because i can only use 1 at a time!!!
What's that supposed to meen?
Lets ssay i have the achilles class theoreticly. And i want the Miranda class. How can I have them both together
Oh come on Draconis. Surely you can read into this request!!??!!
Anyway, Billy9 simply means that he's downloaded a few already modded single release ships. Now as you know when you install more than one of these the following files overwrite each other:
- Gui_Global.spr - *.TT - *.AIP - Shipyard ODF files
The idea with this is for you to look through each of the released ships zip/rar file and see what files they use. Then get the same files from your clean install of A2. From this look through the modded files and copy the file entries for the new ships into the clean files from your armada 2 install. This may read as being complicated but once you've done it a few times you should be fine.
Aside from this a suggestion would be for you to get the Big Book of Modding.
Oh, now I know what you're talking about. By the way, whatever you do, dont't overwrite the gui_global and tech1.tt files if you want to use your other new ships.
Billy9, the big book of modding is definately the thing to have. It will show you how to add more ships and stations to the game. Not just replace existing ones. Each object in the game that can build, be it a shipyard, or a construction ship, even a starbase, has the potential to build up to 14 items each! That advanced shipyard that only shows four ships in the lineup, you can add ten more ships to be built. But as the Major pointed out, there are other things to change along with the shipyard's lineup. That's where the book of modding comes in. It meticulously takes you step by step through the whole process. I can't remember where I got it, but it's called Westworld's Big Book of Modding, and it's all about Star Trek Armada 2.

I had heard of that book before, but I never bothered to download it. I don't even remember how I learned to mod. I kinda just new. Well, not quite. It just seemed like it happened in an instant because I can't remember when I started.
Me too once i learned to open all the files i cant remember having to learn how to edit them i only used BBOM for buildbutton and wireframe making.
I actually initially learnt by reading & talking to people on forums & MSN, but the BBOM certainly helped me refine things and even now when I have problems, it's the first place I go!! ;)
