For a long time I have been slowly chiping away at a 3 way Race mod based on this website. The Starfleet Museum - A Report by Masao Okazaki With my current time constaints and skill set this will still take some time as their are about 2 dozen ships I still need to find or make not to mention some stations so this is not a release post. What I'm doing here is trying to drum up some balance ideas for my Klingons and Romulans. With out coping the whole site here the crux of the problem is that both the Klingons and Romulans are really low tech compaired to the Feds early on. Of course things are more complex than that but thats the short of it. Ship wise The Feds are getting just the ships on the sight up to about 2270. The Klingons and Romulans will get the on sight ships plus matching Destroyers I have yet to get finished. Station wise the setup will be different then stock. Everyone will get an early/Base station, a Battlestation, 1 or 2 research stations, what ever yards are needed for their fleet list and a Sector HQ Base. The Base, Battle, and HQ stations will serve as trade, resorce, and repair points and my build fighters fore base defence if that race has any fighters. Yards won't be able to do repairs but I may add an FRD to each race. The research list doesn't need to be over long or complex but I do think that the time involved needs to be quite high as most of the items will be imulating the passage of time in some way. Overall balance will not be to stock. The races will only be balanced against each other so that give me some room to work. One more thing; as far as the Museum is conserned Enterprise never happened. So any ideas, segestions, or questions?

I love that site - It was (and I guess still is) the basis for my Four Day War mod I began ages ago (and will finish one day...) In fact - didn't I do you a Pytior Velicky (or whatever) class a while back?
Also, I think I promised you a Quetzalcoatl class too - I did the saucer, but never got around to finishing it - the saucer alone was like 2200 polys...
One of the reasons I love Masao Okazaki's designs is that he justifies everything - there are no extra nacelles added just for the hell of it, or god ships with eight million terrawatt phasers etc... Its all really balance-able with cannon.
As for the Enterprise thing - I say take the SF-M's take on things and run with it - Enterprise, although a great piece of sci-fi tv, was a travesty with regards to Star Trek cannon. And the SF-M makes a far more acceptable shot at explaining the Earth-Romulan war...
As for balancing the sides - the system I was going to use was that the Romulans and the Klingons could build their ships from small local ship yards - relatively close to the front, for small resource cost. The down side was that the ships were technically crude and out classed by the Federation equivalents.
As for Starfleet - they had ship yards at Andor and Mars at this time (If I remember correctly) So the ships, rather than being built up at small local ship yards, were called into action, via a sector operation station type thing (ala Fleet Ops) The ships would be more expensive, and take longer to arrive, as they would be built THEN dispatched to your sector...
My two cents... Also - I think I might be getting a new Lappy this weekend - so I look forward to playing this, once its released...!
Well I'm building up from the bones of Ch'Yu Chen's Romulan War Demo. Romulan War Mod Demo 0.5b Mod Download, Star Trek: Armada 2 Mods He gave me permision to use everything he did there and Terradyhne has lent his permissions as well has passed along a couple more ships. The Fed fleet post war however was in need of an overhaul and there where no Klingons included. Scince then I have managed to get just about every combat ship from the site. I'm still converting things right now so alot os ships still have yet to be intergrated but I see about geting som pics of the ons that made the cut. Yea Dino you did me a PV mesh and I snaped up your Avenger and Pred meshes too and tinkered with them and their textures. Heres some pics of how they turned out. They got hybridised with some higher poly parts from Fahres and Terradyhne. I hope you aprove of the changes. Oh and don't worry about the Quetzalcoatl. A freind had the full set of Jay Hagen meshes including that one and passed them along for the mod.
I have no issues with modding of the meshes or textures - just so long as I am properly credited in the readme afterwards.
I have a hell of a lot more done from that site (both Federation and Terran Empire re textures)
Everything from the Ptolmey class through the Asia and Eclipse to the Federation...
Once I get myself up and running I will look into getting them released to the community (MSFC first, then A2 files). Of course, if you have any other models you might want, that I have lying around, just let me know? I cant commit to making anything new just now, but If you want to repeat your modding to the Avenger and Predator, just let me know?

Sounds a little like a project I've been working on in my own time. Looking nice, you might want to look at MSFC as I have released a few early TOS designs in mesh (3ds and ms3d) format that may or may not hold your interest.
I think many forget that MSFC has a lot of unique resources not found on other sites, just like A2Files and AFC does.
Keep up the work, I'll keep my eye on this one. :)
Thanks for the reminder. I'll have a look. Unsurprisingly Fed combat hulls are fairly abundent even for this timeline. It's the Klingon and Romulan fleets in need of combatants. I have all my cruisers lined up. I just have to get them all converted and in game. Lighter combatants and freighters are mainly what I'm hunting though some period Klingon and Romulan fighters would be nice too. I'll also have to run down period shuttles because all the early ships lack transporters.
Ok got a few more picks. These are all models alread in game that get to stay though there will be some texture tweeks coming so final apereance may change slightly
Good stuff, Starfox. A lot of these models looks similar to the old Romulan Wars mod. Maybe they might have some Roms in there for you to use? Klingons are going to be a challenge to include as a race, though. Good luck with this, I'm looking forward to seeing what comes of this mod project.
Very bad resolution on those images, I suggest increasing your resolution in game.
Oh and I do have a freighter released in the mesh section of the site. It's based on the Daedalus class actually I called it the Katala after MSFC Administrator and my Fiancée.
