Sometime around the installation of the 1.2.5 patch (not saying its the patches fault) I found that my stations, and ship had a weird problem. Basically for some reason, every time one of my ships/station no matter what race fires a phaser, it doubles it up, triples pulses and quadruples the number of trops special or basic. But Before you think oh well he has most likely doubled the weapons I tested this. My nebula fired its meimea (sp) effect, and four of that weapon effect appeared but only had the effect of one. But what is even stranger is it doesn’t effect any form of wave effect, and doesn’t effect all torps. For instance my purple/pink trops on premonition class are not doubled up. ...Does anyone know what could possibily cause this?

sounds like a weapon.spr issue, like you are using reference=512 when it should be reference=256. Have you tried uninstalling the patch at all?

Oh yea, the animation is not set right. You install any new weapons lately?

Yea quite a few, but ive also just noticed that my nebula's point defense phasers and pulse phaser are now not just doubling up, but now have two or three different color phasers firing, would the reference = 512 cause that to?

If the referensce is wrong say 512 when you need 256 the annimation progamme the dose all the sprits will look at to much of the sprite texture at once, e.g. multiple beams or torpedos per shot fired. What in this case probly happened is that you accidently over wrote your weapon's sprite file with another one from one of the weapons you installed and the the entrees were coded for weapons prites with the same name but different animation. Do you have a back up file?

No, but there are so many new weapons in the weapon spirt file that it could be any number of weapons causing the damage, look ill post the weapon.spr file and can you take a breif look at how bad the damage is?

without knowing the pixel size of each texture referrenced we'd be little help.

But as far as i know, it only happens with stock weapons, i'm yet to see it happen with non-stock ones. So it should match the stock version of textures. Oh theres an idea tho, do either of you have a stock copy of the weapon.spr file? that way i could just copy in the changes for the new weapons and it should correct its self?

You say that as far as you know it happens with the stock textures... I have been having the same problem with stock Weapons textures. I was attempting to make a pulse weapon for the Valkyrie fighters with the purple pulse phaser before I released them, but I kept getting weird errors.

I think after lookin at what i've installed, the probelm originated from dom pack, where i manually installed it. But I still need the stock weapon.spr to edit to fix it me thinks, oh and after you got rid of the pulse phasers did it go back?
