I've noticed that every time my ships engage in combat, they always go for the weakest ship/ships in the enemy formation while the stronger ships and therefore more threatening are left alone to do damage and destruction. Is there any way I can make my ships always go for the strongest ships in an enemy formation?Because it's very frustrating to see my Warbirds going after a squadron of Jem'hadar fighters while a group of Jem'hadar Battlecruisers are shooting at them.

Change the attackValue and intrinsicValue codes and the ship's AI will target various ships on a far different basis.

One of many things you can do to entice your ships into behaving themselves differently in a formation.

attackvalue and intrinsic value's are added up by an AI to decide where and when to send a fleet.

individual targeting is rather simple, your ships will fire at the closest vessel to them, if in a fleet I think they assign a lead vessel and fire at the closest to that. the reson they attack destroyers first is they are faster, have lower avoidance classes and shorter weapons ranges meaning they get closer.

As for improving what your ships fire at, either make a an AI where your opponents dont build destroyers or throw some multi targeting weapons onto your ships to clear the destroyers away faster.

Achilles, my ships aren't firing at the closest vessel, they are firing at the weakest one. I've checked this. In the enemy formations were stronger ships that were very close to them and yet they still attacked the destroyers.

Starfleet Kid, what values should I give to each ship to change it's target priority? I mean if I give them high values they will have low target priority and if I give them low values, the target priority will be higher?

the values are already set so thebig ships should be targeted first.

Is it possible that the weaker ship have "#include=bigshipsodf" and the stronger have "#include=smallshipsodf"? It's possible that the AI watches the classification of the ships (battleship, frigate, cruiser or destroyer) and the weaker ships simply have stronger classification than your big ships.
