I plan to do a bit of mixing here, though before I start, wouldn't mind knowing if it is possible, or if anyone has tried anything similar in the past. Say we had a Moon (which gives you Dilithium), a Planet (which gives you Metal) and a Nebula (which gives you Latinium). If we made it possible to 'acquire' the Moon/Planet/Nebula as a station (so to speak) could it be coded so that said station would automatically (upon being acquired) speed up your resources? It would be like an Oil Station on the C&C games. Once captured, it would produce cash until destroyed, or captured by another.

Well I know theres a mod that makes resource objects buildable, and I have thought about it but have never tried it. One thing I do know is that if you make them a station like object they will need to have huge amounts of health to prevent accidental destruction during capure ops.

How is crew generated quicker by capturing a planet? I'd have a look at that first.
