I've got a question. Is it possible to make the ships in Armada 2 moving like in Armada 1 (with the option "Directors Cut")?

Thanks for help

Erm, can you elaborate please?:) If your talking about the physics of ship movement, then yes you can change that. But that would recquire some modding skills. I would suggest transporting over to a2files and assimilating Westworlds Big Book of modding. That should help you understand more about what you are trying to do. On a side note; Welcome to the forums!

i think he means how the ships in armada move in combat, I believe cptbensisko once tried to do something like what you are saying, suffice to say it is probabally gunna require a lot of physics and probabally a bit of work in the RTS_CFG.h file to get it to work, but these are just guesses. You'd have to look into this more deeply.

But thanks for help. I will go on and try to find out how it works.

p.s.: sorry for grammar

well physics for federation ship's is trek_sbattphys.odf(skirmish) and sbattphys.odf(single player) if you want slow trekky physics.. replace one with the other, then there also physics files for combat..you're gonna have to look for those, you can find all these files in odf/other folder.

Hope that helps you..

Yes i know the slow physiks @peanut but I mean something different: Ships are holding their position during a battle except you use a formation. What I mean is that the ships still moving durig the battle without a formation like the "Directors Cut-Mode" in Armada 1.

So i search for a parameter who say to the ship: go on moving when you fight.

In the RTS_CFG.h I found this: // Instead of standing perfectly still, should we circle in place near our // weapon range? int CIRCLE_IN_PLACE_DURING_COMBAT = 1; float CIRCLE_RADIUS_DIVISOR = 6.0;

But when I change the parameter nothing happend...

You dont need to change RTS_blah.. If you want the ship's to move around/Evasive Manuever's.. then you can do this in game.. just click on the arrow icon in the menu.. and choose one Option/formation..

You can have the ship cirle around the target/or make attack run's ..it's all there..

@peanut: I think you doesnt' unterstand me. I know the formations. If you have played Armada 1 with the "Directors Cut" option then you know whant I mean...

Yeah.. i was thinking about ..what you meant by "Directors Cut".. i dont own Armada 1.., so after giving it a good long...thougt i decided to google for it, and well as it turn's out i was right all along, you just misunderstood me, http://www.treknews.de/treknews/newspro-treknews/static/98924246082814.php "There will no longer be a seperate Directors cut function. This will be more integrated into the actual game itself, most notably the new 3d formations. These will range from aggressive to defensive formations....." I suggest using the last(formation/option) as it also help's avoid enemy torpedos..
