For some reason, my ships have a tendency to circle round and round stations and bases if I send them out. This is especially annoying when I am trying to repair them because unless there is plenty of room around the shipyard, they just sort of circle around it.
Another annoying thing is that when I build ships straight out the orbital starbase they fly out a good distance and get stuck against the edge of the screen. This really only happens if I am positioned against the right side of the map.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The first is just annoying. Nothing you can do.
The second is a problem with the space you have. In order to get your ships "unstuck," you have to decommison the starbase and build it away from the edge of the map. After, your ships *should* pop out of one space.
Yeah a2 is nice like that, and some times is a pain in the butt. But like the Lt said, not much you can do about it. Build with the thought of room in mind. cause ur gonna need it.

I've noticed that mostly non-standard, add-on ships have the repair problem where they can't link up with the station dock. It is as stated a placement issue of where it is built. Sometimes you can go to mapedit mode during a game and move a shipyard a little and ships will then dock for repair. When that doesn't work you can send a standard ship from the original game to repair and tell the others to repair and they'll line up just right behind it. Weird, but that works.
What orbital station do you have that builds? None work that I've seen. I tried to build and orbiter that will build ships but no go either.
My orbital station's problem is that when I build a ship, and if it comes out on the right side then sometimes a ship will get stuck against the edge and I can't get it off.
Since I play in AI and I start with the OS then what I normally have to do is build a regular construction ship, and build a basic starbase farther away from the edge. I have 2 construction ships.
The first smaller one builds the regular shipyards, among other things. The second one is the same construction ship, but twice the size. It builds the more advanced structures (like the SanFran shipyard (which builds some of my more advanced ships like the Admiral Soverign, Dawnstar, and Zion classes.) and one I call the Prototype Shipyard which builds ships like the Achilles and the AVM Voyager.
If I could manage to color the second construction ship then I could reduce it to normal size and I could still tell them apart. Or if I could change the distance that a ship comes out of the orbital starbase, then I could keep it from flying into the edge. As it is, any ship that comes out of my orbital starbase flies out about 5 or 6 inches. If I don't watch it and move it appropriately, it just gets stuck on the edge.
