Ok, I'm trying to install the "Republic Star Destryoer" vehichle mod.

I'm pretty much finished copying and pasting the files but it says to open 'shipyard.odf', but I can't find anything called "shipyard.odf" in the odf folder, which is where I assume it should be...

I'm assuming maybe it's just a generic name 'shipyard' and something like "fyard2.odf" will do fine?

Also, there's this one "arsd.bmp" in the main folder that the readme doesn't mention.

Is that just to see what it looks like or does that need to go in the bitmaps somewhere?

Also it wont' let me save any changes to files!!! "Access denied" or something :(

Thanks

LC

Check out Westworlds Big Book of Modding, anything and everything you have asked is in there, an excellent source for beginners.

Laughing Cheese (!!??!!). The shipyard.odf reference could be ANY of the shipyards you wish to use. Just remember to include the file entries for the tech tree files as well (easy mistake to make). No idea what the BMP file is doing in there and to find this out your better of contacting the original author. As for the saving issue. Select ALL the ODF's. Right click on one whilst they are all selected and uncheck the READ ONLY box. You should then be fine.

The access denied error is due to the files being protected "read only".

If you right click on the files and deselect the tickbox marked readonly then you will be able to save them.

I think your probably right on the shipyard point, you can assign anything to build from anything so where you build from won't matter much.

On the bitmap file, I don't know but it may go in the admirals log folder (bitmaps\AdmiralsLog\ShipImages)

I hope this helps.

Thanks guys! I downloaded that modding book yesterday...I'll go look at it now.

Yeah, I just recently thought that it was probably the read-only thing. Is there a way to shut off read-only for the entire armda2 folder?

That makes sense on the bitmap; it's probably the image that you see in the ship logs.

Thanks,
