Can anyone please provide a decent tutorial on how to make a ship from beginning to end, including texturing which I have no idea how to do, using milkshape 3d? Please, I really want to start making my own ships, and all I need is one complete tutorial, that is easy to understand for the below novice modder, and includes everything. Odf file editing, sod exporting, the works. Please, please, please..... I throw myself at the mercy of you fellow modders.:bows:
OK, well if you haven't got "Westworlds Big Book of Modding" yet then I suggest that be your first step. The BBOM is often refered to as the "Modders Bible" and is a great deal of help in many area's.
You can get it here - http://armada.filefront.com/file.info?ID=8835
Secondly I suggest you mosey your backside over to www.armadafleetcommand.com/afc and join the forum there as Phantom has posted a very indepth tutorial, including pictures, on how to make ships in Milkshape. :)
Thank you so much. And yes I have already downloaded westworlds big book of modding. I find it is usefull, but the explanations were just a bit too complicated for my skills right now. Once again thank you and if anyone has any more suggestions, please post.:bows:
My suggestion is just practise, just keep messing around with the game, your bound to mess up so keep backups and just learn by experience. I also recomend the BBOM cos thats one of the best ways to decide which files to mess with, just take it slow an you'll get there in the end. Good Luck
There is also a tutorial that focuses specifically on Milkshape that was written by Major A Payne. It is available in the armada2files downloads if I'm not mistaken.
