right i need to know, how do i edit a SOD file? and if possible id like to know a way without any 3D rendering software, cos idont have any other than blender which is freeware, i dont mind methods that require freeware, jjust not stuff i gotta buy

Well aside from Assimview, there is no free way of doing it. You can have limited editing over stock armada 1 SOD files using the Storm 3d editor, but thats as far as it goes.

I use A1's SOD viewer to load A2 models and move HP around all the time. :)

Well, what do you want to accomplish? Maybe you can achieve your goal by changing the odf; ie using a different hp on the same model, or something?... lurk.gif

The SOD viewer is help-ful - but yeah most things can be changed in the ODF text files :)

how do u convert sod files to other formats so theyy can b used in other trek games?

As far as I know you have to get the software. Milkshape 3D is much more affordable than 3D Studio Max, and you can probably achieve what you want with it. In my opinion, converting a model isn't as hard as making one from scratch, give it a shot, Milkshape has a 1 month trial period. I'm sure you could convert one model in that amount of time. pleased.gif

Long as you got permission, Lithunwrap also can extract sods into other formats MOST of the time...
