Alright, there are many Sovereign's available for Armada 2. The most popular ones are P81's higher-poly Sovereign (later poly reduced by PizzaTheHut): http://armada2.filefront.com/screenshots/File/13090/1 And then there is Admiral's Sovereign: http://armada2.filefront.com/screenshots/File/13714/1 See, the issue I have is that I love the Admiral Textures, but I have to think that the p81 has the better model (poly reduced one or not).Simply, has anyone tried putting Ad's textures on p81's model? I think the result would be really cool: taking the two best features of two already kick ass mods. Thoughts? Anyone wanna try it?

I sort of agree with you. But there is something about P81's model that i just hate, and that is the Saucer section. It is far too "flat" (if you know what i mean).

I have thought about swapping the textures and the models, but the way the mesh groupings of the are grouped, it is going to take a while to regroup the whole thing so it can be retextured.

Of course there is the low poly version of the CGSov from Bridge Commander....that will blow both the Admirals sovereign and the P81 Sovvie out of the water...I plan on converting it over to release for people with lower end machines that like to mass produce the thing.

As I said on msn, the effect would be interesting and if I had the skills I would try it, I kinda get Gavins idea that the Saucer is somewhat flat, but I don't think it is excessively so and it doesn't detract from the model in my oppinion.

If you can do that Captain we would all be in your debt.

You say that Sovereign was reduced by Pizza The Hutt? - Well, I've just downloaded that model, and it is 3755 (compared to my 2372 reduced version for Zero Hour) ;) But to answer your question. Would it not depend upon your computer? If you can run P81's, then by all means, have that one. If not, then Admirals is 2nd in line.

We could always try updating P81's textures. I've always thought they could use some updating to reflect the Enterprise as it appeared in Nemesis.

I might give it a go if i can get some free time on my hands.

1) I'll have to look out for your model again. 2) P81's would run fine, but I strongly dislike the textures.

Now that is a Sovereign i would be happy to use in Armada 2. I still haven't got around to porting it for use.

Hello: I agree, I look forward for the release since I'm truly want to give that ship a chance in my game (I'm a bit of stock-models-lover you know ;) ).
