Greetings people!

I've released the Mods official website (see at: Star Trek Armada II: Evolution Mod), now I need an official forum, too. Here is it :) Here you can ask me about the mod and sometimes I will ask the community.

The first news is the shiplist of the Federation. You can find it on the site. And my first ask: Please vote, which ship would be the Enterprise-F? I have ideas, but I want to give some possibilities for the community to control the modification ;)

I'd suggest using the Century Class U.S.S Enterprise from BCfiles. It's really extraordinary looking. Tell us what you think of it.

I second the Century. It's simply the most worthy available design. Plus it's gorgeous. I want that ship for A2 real bad.

I figured it was already available or someone would be converting it. Someone really should!

It's not A2 ready. That models a beast! I think it weighs in around 20,000 polies at least though it could be higher. Way out of my skill range right now. You would have to get someone like Major Pain to convert it. The textures are 2400X2400 high pixle mosters too! They take up 20 meg by themselves. I'd love to see her done but it might be faster to make a new model than convert that one.

I straight ported it from BC and it looks awesome..but it is indeed a beast of a model...MAP would def need to rebuild it and use the textures for it.

K_merse, it's good to see another mod around the corner, especially a mult-era mod. But there are better models than the ones you have listed on your site available in SOD format. I would search around, have a look in the downloads section and even some of the bigger projects.

Cpt.BenSisko;4196901MAP would def need to rebuild it and use the textures for it.

That or someone else wanting to use the model. There are more than one person in the community that can do it, it's just MAP is the best know for that type of work.

a straight port of a 20,000 poly model with 20MB of textures? Into A2? Just how big is that nuclear powered graphics card you are running? ;)

the textures im running are the 512x512 sharpened up textures..so like i have said numerous times in the past to several people..its not the polies so much sometimes as it is the resolution of the textures...a 500 poly model with 2048x2048 textures will slow the game to a crawl while a 20,000 poly model with 512x512 textures won't do it as much...and I have a 512 Mb video card..and 2 gigs of Ram..so....

I was going to convert the model, but I stopped after I realised the poly count, I'll have to try it with the re-sized textures and see how it plays.
