No, doesn't sound like it, if you're not doing it.

From what I have seen over the last couple of weeks, there is not a lot of like for the designs of the ships. With that being the case, I can see the ships being done for individual installs but, a full mod would seem a little much.

My biggest complaint with the game is the story board. It does not make sense to me. Why would Martok declare war on the Federation? I would have preferred a unique story. Add some new races. Kingon on Federation on Romulan violence is just a little old to me.

Wait for a couple of expansion packs to entice someone to mod that into existence.

In the meantime, the stuff from Future Wars or FO puts STO to shame.

I'd hate to say it, but I'm not going to shed a tear that I won't be able to afford to get the game. I'd never thought I would say that about a Star Trek game.

I feel ever since the issues with Activision the Star Trek gaming has gone down the loo. Legacy was okay, but Star Trek Online I feel just isn't worth it, especially with that darn monthly subscription. Many can't afford that with the current job shortages and economy issues. Game companies need to adjust to the times. I'd rather see a new game created by the fans from the various Star Trek gaming communities rather than a organisation that has very little clue about what the fans want.

The story is really the weak part of the game. Why couldn't they find out something else than the classic Federation-Klingon war, which is totally ahistorical at the time? There won't be classic PvP batles either, because about 3/4 of the players will join the Federation. My another problem is the ship designs. They either just "refitted" (means added one or two rollbars, strips etc. here and there) an old ship, like Akira, Miranda, Luna, Sovereign, or built something very idiotic-looking ship with ugly narcelles, like their Excalibur or that ship clearly based on the Intrepid.

as long there is interest in those kinds of mmo games than you will see more of that sh** in the Future but this time they sticked the label Star Trek on it and only made good graphics in it that the most of you guys here like. I mean do you guys see, to what this graphics fetishism has led us ?? There will be much of the younger generations who playing this because it has good graphics, without only knowing what Star Trek realy was and is.

Yeah they have the same problem with this game as in the most of the other Star Trek games, they are only creative at making Federation sh** ship designs and all those other races got to less designs. the most Fed ships look more like Feds pirate ships that have been bolted together in the junkyards of the Federation.

STO is nothing more than another MMO game which the world don't need more of.

Have you guys actually played it yet? I don't mean running out to buy a copy, just swing past just about any Game Stop and get a free limited time play card from them, this way you can actually see what it is your complaining about (oh and the actual game is much different then the beta was for those that played the beta). As I've said before it's actually a really good game, planet side combat still needs a little work (ok, maybe alot) but the space combat is great (think Legacy but minus the having to watch the rest of your ships, they're actually other players instead) and those with great pc's are really going to see how well the game actually looks. As to other races not getting any new ships I just have to say check again, not everything in the game is shown on the website. Take the Undine for example (Species 8472), they have 3 ships so far and only one is an old one. Also keep in mind that it is a really new game and they are adding stuff as they go. Granted, you can only swap parts around from same ships in the same class, newbies get either a Centaur Class, Maranda Class(with the weapons rollbar), or Shikahr Class (think post nemesis maranda with a rollbar). You get to change the aztecing of the hull and even the colors of said aztecing. The characters that you play are even more customizable then the ships and you can make your character and crew look like how ever you want them to. If you don't want to be any of the regular ST races then chose alien and make your own race using the same customization tools for something truly new to the ST universe. The weapon systems and other support systems like the shields and such are upgraded as you go or you can use drops from kills to make them even better, same goes for your characters planet side/station side. I realize that it being a new game (30 days of FREE play when first installed) is going to be pricey to buy and the 15 dollars a month to play may be a pain for a few but you don't always have to pay every month, it's like W.o.W. in that respect, if you want to take a month or few off from it then let it lapse, when you want to start playing again just renew your sub and your characters are there waiting for you. Just sitting there saying it's a P.O.S. game and it sucks and never having played it is just an half assed opinion and a waste to everyone else's time in reading the post. Like I previously said, go get a FREE game card for it at most every Game Stop, give it a try and then say what you will about it. Not like free time trial will cost you anything now will it, well other then a little time.
