I can remember when this mod first came out. It was awesome and to this day I enjoy it. Now I know empire at war is out and working on this mod further isn't all that important anymore. However, another release on this mod was going to be released and I think it should still be worked on. If I had the skills, I'd do the mod myself because I already have ideas that would make the mod awesome. Think the mod should be redesigned? I want some opinions.
Firstly welcome to the site, secondly I agree a revamp of the mod would be awesome especially considering what is available now in terms of content. I would love to see it redone to also include the Prequel factions but the Project90 team doesn't do Armada any more and most are almost impossible to get in contact with.
A couple of years ago (2005/2006) I did however get in contact with Stalker, a member of Project90 and he was fine with me using their content in my mod at the time, as long as I gave credit. Due to this and other requests I have seen since then I don't see any issue if someone wants to re-do/re-vamp etc SW Fleet Command as long as the credit is given to those who originally worked on the mod.
So if you want to re-do the mod, enhance it or whatever I say go from it, you'll only learn by doing.
I do have some Star Wars models from the old Parallels mod that I do plan to release over the next 6 months that people are free to use, and I am making a couple for Chief_Chainsaw that I'll also be releasing that you are welcome to as well. Unfortunately they aren't to the top of my to-do list as I am getting my ST TMP mod ready for an initial release as well as some other files and some other issues I need to help a good friend with.
Yeah you have a point. Only way I'll learn is by doing it. I just have some great ideas that would make the mod really great. But we'll see what happens. Thanks for your input
I don't disagree. In fact its on my todo list :P Rod

I think there are quite a few people who would have similar ideas about what else can be included in this mod, along with a lot of community-made models ranging from the early Clone Wars to the New Republic, and even some KotOR models that are still around. It definitely calls for the attention of someone or a group of modders working together, to bring SWFC back into the game. Unfortunately a lot of who's left around here are already tied up in Trek-verse projects.... but further exploration is highly recommended.
Welcome to the forums, Shadowadm122.
I have a partially developed mod that builds on SWFC. I have replaced a lot of units and have grand plans for doing something fun in the future. I've set my mod in a period around the Yuuzhan Vong War from the NJO Novels with a few additions. If I get around to finishing it the Mod will feature, the New Republic and Imperial Remnant, the Chiss Ascenancy and Hapes Consortium, the Yuuzhan Vong and Duskhan League (Yevetha). I also have a secret race that probably won't remain secret forever. If I ever finish it. If your interested run a search for threads started by me to see the ships I've already shown off. Rod
It would be nice to see another Star Wars Project put into the works, or even an extension on SWFC. We've easily got four unique sides to play with, all you'd need are the ships, and stations.
I'm actually already working on resizing the ships and stations to make the sizes more realistic. I should have a complete list of the scales by the end of the day. But man, having the Empire, Rebels, CIS, Old Republic, and many other races......sniffle. *Gets tissue* What a work of art it would be. Or should I say will be :)
I await the results of your mini project. Should be interesting for sure. :)
I didn't make it!
Me and some friends have been working on a version since it first came out. Including new SW factions. Cut-down elements of it will be included in Collision Course (STvsSW)... But I hope to get the full Star Wars mod up and running within 6 months to a year after CC is done.
