Basic questions, I think, that I don't really have answers for. First, I noticed a lot of the PotD on Armada2Files have a much better starfield/background than the normal game. How do find a new one, and apply it? I think it would go a long way to enhancing the look of my mod. Second, I'm looking for better sound effects for the Dominion/Cardassian race I'm redoing (which is already mostly done). Where is a good place to look for these? Thanks for any help you can give.

For better starfields, planets, etc., check out: Midnight Universe, Star Trek: Armada 2 Downloads, Star Trek: Armada 2 Mods To figure out how to put in your own custom backgrounds, check out: Map Background Tutorial, Star Trek: Armada 2 Downloads, Star Trek: Armada 2 Tutorials

If you want to try figuring out the stars on your own, I'm pretty certain the following files control it: mstars.tga starfield.spr and a bunch of .odf files in the /other folder, most of them have the 'st' prefix, ie: stlots, stnone, stblob...

If your working on a mod and want to bring its graphics up to state of the art feel free to include Vanilla Ultimate in your release. That will bring everything (map objects, special effects, explosions, weapons etc) up to state of the art graphics.
