Convertings not that hard. All you need is a modeling program and a textrue editing progame and the right importers and exporters.

Seve Ripley;4796621Thing is the only modding I can do is things like odf files.

Never ever let me see you disparage yourself this way again, please. Everyone here had to start somewhere when beginning to mod A2. ODF files may be all you do at the present time. However, sooner or later you will look at something someone else has done and say, "I could do that." And you will. All it takes is a little sweat and patience.

Besides, being an ODF modder can be fun. Making Fireball's Churchill do a slow roll through a Romulan attack fleet, or making FahreS's Planck do a Crazy Ivan to shake a persistent Dominon battlecruiser is something I never get tired of.

What textrue editing progame would I need?cos thing I'd also like to try is doing the lighting on the ships.

Lighting is something I've learned to do recently myself. I would suggest Adobe's Photo Shop Pro, since that seems to be what everyone else uses and it works. I use an ancient version of Corel's Photo Paint which I purchased at a garage sale and really like.
