Hi everyone. I am having a problem with some textures. I have 2 texture files, one that is the actual texture and the other is black with lights on (is this called alpha?) How would I make the model with the textures have the black texture with lights on without covering the origional textures?
I wanna help, but I'm confused. Did you make a model with these textures? Did you download a model that came like that? Be a little more elaborate please:confused:
Okay, I made a model using textures from the uss picard ship for sfc3. It had 2 sets of textures, one that was the texture of tthe ship and the other was black with a deflector, engin parts, windows, etc. How would I get the model to show the light one over the other texture without seeing the black? I'll post pics soon of what I mean
Ok, Ill wait for the pics, but does the model show up right when you open it in ms3d or storm 3d?
They both show in ms3d and storm 3d Here are the shots:
u only can use the black textures as an alpha channel.
so u have to add them as an alpha channel to the other textures.
How would i do that? I'm using adobe photoshop and fireworks if that helps :)
i dont know how it works with those progs, but i still can help you. dowload txd workshop for free here: http://gtatools.com/filedb/action.php?action=download&id=16 1. click on new, then on 32BPP. 2. dubble click the image icon and select "alpha is used", click ok 3. at the bottom u have to select "image". then click import and import the normal texture. 4. click at the bottom on "alpha / mask". then click again import and select the black image. 5. click "mixed view" and "export" -> "TGA" 6. if the program ask u if u want to save the file when u r closing it click "no".
note: the black/alpha image must be only black and white.
Thanks for that, i'll try it now :) :) :)
Okay, I do what you said above but when I use the new texture, the entire part just dissapears.
u have to name the material wich use the texture to
