I started out in this community on SGNonline around 2002/2003 on the Rivendell board for the build up to the B5 mod. After that I hung around AFC for some years before I finally ended up here a couple of years ago. Usually I was just lurking around in the background, following various projects and picking up useful modding knowledge along the way. I have to say in the 5 or so years I've been around I've had a lot of fun learning to mod this game, and interacting (all-be-it rarely) with many of you. Sadly due to various real life reasons, and a few community based ones, I feel it will soon be time for me to move on. I still have a fair bit of work to do for Ash on Zero Hour, but after that I think I will be done. I wouldn't expect many of you to notice, or even care, for the simple reason that I've never been particularly active/involved in much. The point of this thread isn't to provoke a response, or to get attention, but to simply thank various people whom I have come to like and respect (even if they have no idea who I am) So I'd like to take the time to mention a few people who have helped or inspired me along the way. I'm never gonna remember everyone from the 5 years I've been around, so these are just a few off the top of my head:o (In no particular order) AFC (aka fleet admiral) for his almost single handed devotion to maintaining one of the only two remaining sites. MajorPayne for inspiration, dedication, level-headedness, and general marshalling of the community (not to mention single-handedly creating some of the best mods out there) Achilles without a doubt one of the last of the titans amoungst us. Lets face it, he inspires most of us to do better doesn't he? And man, does he make it look easy! cecilzero1 dont see him around these parts much anymore, but pretty knowledgable, a mature head on his shoulders, and a genuinely nice guy Wraith for his single-handed determination, to bring what is still one of the best total conversions to armada2, B5A2 Westworld for the bible (although I've never actually read the thing lol) Lord Trekkie not around here much anymore, likes to dabble in the 2d as much as the 3d, good fun and a nice guy chiletrek really nice guy, that spends most of his time supporting and encouraging others. We need more like him. phantom The Armada 1 specialist. Still working away as hard as ever. Nuff said bryan well the scimiter alone is enough to make me love this guy porty is he still around? man I should go back to fleetcommand more. Anyway another long term member and all round nice guy. Terradyne for inspirational models and attention to detail Elrond for usually being the voice of reason in most things greathor for BSG, what more can be said pepperman for originality, and a professional gloss to his work, most of us dream about thunderfoot006 my old mate Rich, the keeper of the Flying Monkeys of Doom. Watch out for this one, he's quite a handful:nodding: Majestic and Syf the dynamic duo. Doing far more for the community than a lot of people realise. CaptSyf (as I remember him) has become a modelling machine, spitting them out at a mindblowing rate. Maj is forever striving to extend and support the community through his website, and still finds time to build total conversions while he's at it. Tycoon meh, he's ok I guess. lol. Just kidding, we love you Ash. Was a sad day indeed when you stepped down as site admin/moderator. A cool and mature head on one so young. IKS has proved himself an excellent addition to the site team. Who'd have thought a Klingon P'tach could be so ellequant when writing reviews. (just dont play against him on Bridge Commander - he'll show no mercy) Joelteon7 always behind the scenes keeping the wheels turning. A very level-headed young man who works hard to keep us all inline Freyr another guy who works tirelessly behind the scenes to make this site a pleasurable experience. Firm but fair, and a really friendly guy Farhes some of the most original models and ideas I have seen over the years. Long may this guy create masterpieces of the modelling kind. DocoCola what this guy can do is beyond most of us. He is clearly a huge asset to the community with his coding knowledge and abilities, and has achieved stuff only most of us could dream about. Long may he reign. Spectre you know, the thing that sticks in my mind the most was that hot Jolene Blalock avatar you used to have. mmmmmmmmmmmm:hump: Glad he's helping with Stargate now. Dan1025 One of the most active people arond these parts. A really nice guy, and I swear he now has pointy ears and green blood. Yacuzza one of the few true artist amongst us Squire James one of the most dedicated and hard working modders here. It's a pleasure to watch his work evolve. And a few others that spring to mind: rodglas icewolf paulhanselluk/sonic Harrie jkerplay Darklight Kel333 admiralRyan adam_atlantian K7A Gavin1701 TheStarfleetKid Straxus Atlantis Epytron_Omega Cpt_Geddes Setiesh Twitch score1_uk uss_capital CptBenSisko draconis_sharp ColdDarkParanoia HMS Frontier starfox1701 Captain Fingers Thank you guys one-and-all:bows: -Paul (Avon)

well you may leave the community I'm afraid the modding/modelling bug never goes away, I shan't be surprised if your names keeps popping up long into the future.

Thank you, this honors a lot of good modders. But this Armada community needs more Modders so im sad about your decision and I hope that youll get back to armada modding in the future.

btw. if you tried to write my name, its spelled a bit different lol, but no problem, its a strange name ;)

Well first thankyou for the mention, I know over the last few years we haven't communicated loads, but whenever I have had a A2 question, you have always been willing to help, its safe to say that the greater whole of the A2 community will be diminished with your leaving. All the best with whatever you do, but I think I speak for us all when I say don't be a stranger.

Its always a shame seeing people leave. I certainly hope you enjoy whatever you move onto.

On behalf of the rest of the staff (because I guess at least a couple of us won't see this) thanks for the mention. Knowing that people appreciate the job we do is really the main reason we keep putting lots of time into keeping the site running smoothly. :)

Avon, you old dawg, you. Whomever shall I share all those way, way inside jokes with anymore? No one else 'round these parts shares our admittedly peculiar(some folks call it "weird") sense of humor. BTW, did you tell Gavin to go to sleep tonight? Thank you, Sirrah for the mention. I am deeply honored you think of me as a friend. I shall miss popping in here or MSFC to see what new goodies you've decided to share with the rest of us. Always did think your Caretaker Array Mod was one of the very best available anywhere. Sorry to see you wrapping things up and preparing to move on. Be delighted to see you come back 'round here once in awhile. I wish you much success in life, gaming, and modding. Not going to say goodbye. That sounds all permanent like. What I will say is "See you later on down the road, Mate." Good Luck, God Bless, and Godspeed, my friend.

PS. The Flying Monkeys of Doom, Second Regiment, will raise a glass in the Mess tonite as a toast to you.

May your jorney be lite and swift and may nothing impeed your progress. Let the road carry you were you need to go. In the end it is the only path it knows. And perhapps our paths will cross again. I look foward to that day. Until then you will be remmebered with honor. Go forthe and remmeber "No Mater Where You Go There you Are."
