I was a bit ambivalent regarding this, but in the end thought I might as well just say it... I'm attempting to make a Stargate mod. Now, that's not an attempting as in 'trying to find models' or 'need someone to make some stuff' but rather as in 'I'm going to try my best but I'm not that good'. At the moment, nothing is done and in-game (I prefer to save that bit until after at-least some of the modelling's done) but I haven't come empty handed... Before I post any of the models though, there's something I have to make clear. This will not adhere to the show in the strictest way. Sure the ships, universe, names and all that will be the same; but there will be obvious differences - mainly so that the game can be both diverse and playable. Currently, the only two races I'm sure of putting in are the Goa'uld and Earth. From that alone you should be able to work out that It's not going to be that close to 'canon' =p Now that is a large boring bit of text, so have a look at these... (clay renders until I can work out how I want the textures)

Spoiler: Show
attachment.php?attachmentid=70026&stc=1&d=1236462286 A mining vessel. I think the race is obvious... (Tau'ri)
Spoiler: Show
attachment.php?attachmentid=70027&stc=1&d=1236462286 A cruiser - roughly the size of the Daedalus though with more guns and stronger shields
Spoiler: Show
attachment.php?attachmentid=70028&stc=1&d=1236462286 The arbitrary Asgard/human hybrid. Probably going to be a hero unit though...
Spoiler: Show
attachment.php?attachmentid=70029&stc=1&d=1236462286 Tau'ri base station. 'Based' (I know, bad pun) on Midway station and the design philosophy's of the game 'Freelancer'
Spoiler: Show
attachment.php?attachmentid=70030&stc=1&d=1236462379 Goa'uld small ship. About the size of a Prometheus - but packs a bit of a punch.

Comments are always welcome :)

Don't know much about Stargate at all. But I am liking what I am seeing.

Thanks everyone :)

Firstly, thanks for the ships (they're the part I'm most proud of) Secondly, now that you mention it I can see the resemblance. What I was aiming for was something resembling the space-stations we have at the moment (loads of little bits joined together) with a more industrial feeling. I might remake it all together - but when it's sideways on with the modules added (oh yeah, it is going to be modular) then I'm hoping it'll look less gun-like ;)

Seems you've got the skill to take this project all the way. Models sure look neat. :) I can only hope that this mod will find its way to the released ones. We've had a few stargate fans say they're working on a mod, yet we never see (as of yet) anything of it.

Thanks again all:)

I know, that's part of the reason why I started. I've wanted to play a stargate mod since I first saw the Prometheus on screen - and every one that has so far been started seemed to dwindle away quite quickly :( With any luck though, I'll be able to pull through and at least get something out. I'm planning a stage-by-stage release. First will definitely be the Tau'ri and probably the Goa'uld as well. One more thing -

Spoiler: Show
attachment.php?attachmentid=70038&stc=1&d=1236526532 Ancient cruiser WIP - not finished yet; but its getting there...

 Working on the Tau'ri and Goa'uld first, yet already building Ancient Warships. =p Nice to see you've got the motivation anyway. If all else fails, you can always release single ships. There is always someone around to take advantage of them. PS: Alike you, I've always wanted to play / work on a Stargate mod. If you're still working on this when I've completed Zero Hour (some time yet), I would like to offer my limited assistance in advance.
