I just found out that the 3D-modelling program "true space" ist freeware now. is this something you modders can use for your work? or does it have to be 3Dmax?

anyway, here is the legal download link

Most people use MS3D or 3DSMax because they're the only programs I know of that have a working .SOD importer/exporter.

...yeah I don't think this program supports SOD files and since it's surrounding language is German, it's kind of difficult for me to see if theres actually plug-ins for it. It's a cool program to have though, can certainly make cool looking DNA double helix structures with it..;)......

Yeah I prefer to work with MS3D, easy to use and as you said it has a .SOD importer/exporter. Nice suggestion though ameba :)

well I thought as it is said to be a good program, it might be of use. as for the german version: i bet there's a english one on the net as well as the compagny has decided to make it freeware. didn't know about the missing sod importer - are you guys sure about that? shame, I wanted to help the modders out there who can't affort a decent 3D program.
