Hey folks it's me again, I have a question on the Warp Sounds & Effects. With my mod I have a both Star Trek and it's Warp Drive and Star Wars and it's Hyperdrive. They have different sounds and slightly different effects upon entering their respective methods of FTL travel. Is there a way of giving them seperate effects and sounds or at least sounds upon entering and leaving FTL Speeds? I also wanted to use this to give the NX-2000 Excelsior under Captain Styles that oh so amusing failed warp sound when it attempts to go to Warp Speed in one mission in the game. (It has a role to play as a Hero-ship/Map Ship for a mission). I just wanted to get some input on this before I start fishing around and pulling things apart. I find if I go in blind I tend to tinker too much, where when I have the community's guidance I tend to stay focused on the task. Much appreciated for your time and assistance!

I remember playing around in A2 a while ago to accomplish a similar thing to no avail. I couldn't seem to find the main file that governed warp (at least, not through looking through the physics). I could change the texture and the sound but it'd be a universal change unfortunately... Maybe in a future version of the patch project this could happen; but I don't think it can be done at the moment.

Only if you use either the Borg transwarp or the Species 8472 fluidic rift. Considering that SW ships have to accelerate (or at least point) towards the hyper-limit, it works fairly well, and it reduces the annoying SWFC effect of having ships repeatedly hyperspace from place to place on the same screen (some of the smaller cruisers and frigates do this annoyingly). Whether or not the AI uses this effectively is an open question. But there's no way to separate warp from warp.

Actually, if you used the Cardie "speed boost", it might work. But you'd have to really max out that number, like 100x the regular speed boost....

Yeah I plan on using a variation on the warp boost for a number of ships but I need to fiddle with it. Using the Transwarp conduits is a good idea for the SW ships. Solves the problem of no shooting during FTL. But yeah the AI probably won't use it. Well thank you very much for your help.

The AI in my experiance uses the Borg one preety well. Not sure how well it uses the speed boost though.

I gave the speed-boost to an advanced Spoonhead destroyer in the game and the AI used it every chance it got. Made the danged things impossible to catch and kill, which was the idea... But yeah already have plans for the speed boost. So I guess I'll have to work on a SW version of the Transwarp System.

hhmmmmm well since this appears to be currently impossible... I need to figure out a happy medium on the light and sound.
