Ok to night I announced working on an improved phaser system for Creu Chwedl http://armada2.filefront.com/news/Creu_Chwedl_Info;38840 it works by having two sets of harpoints and two phaser beams so the one would fire and then the second would fire from a hp close to the original so it would look like on the show but after testing it today I need a little help I need phaser 1 to fire then phaser 2 then phaser 1 then phaser 2 ext but I am not sure how to do this I have tried changing the delay before next shot but I cant get it just right does any one have any suggestions.

It's not possible to my knowledge, cause a delay would hvae the following effect:

s/s = shot per second

Weapon1: 1s/s Weapon2: 1.1s/s

After one volley gap is 0.1sec as you may want, but after two it grows to 0.2, then .3 and so on. With the first shot there would be no delay at all, the second there would be the delay you set, then after that the delay would get longer and longer.

Yes with phasers it's particularly difficult to get it to visually show it. I've had torpedoes and pulses staggered with some success by using a combination of things, but phaser beams you pretty much have to fudge it.

I just had a tought if I made the first one a speical weapon that would fire autmaticly then I could use the deley before standerd weapons fire command to get it to pause slightly and then the secound phaser could be a normal weapon It might work I will have to test it tommorow

Another idea is use the texture file, textures are animated and you can use a larger file with a long animation that emits a centered beam and then an off center beam later in the animation. I've been thinking about this for a long time, it's very difficult to figure out what you can do, lucky for me I havent done anything with phaser arrays but only the tos/tmp stuff

As in the amount of frames? (4x4, or 1x4, etc?) Or how the phaser would look in the actual file?

Okay so I tried quite a few things and the simplest seemed to be the best looking imo. You can try some other things too, but it's basically a texture with the ship firing from 2 different points. Origionally I had the origional phaser shot fading in the texture but that did not look good at all (cant really do enough frames in armada II for it to look good, I tried an 8 frame animation but that did not want to work for me). In order for this to completely look right, you'd need to do a bit of sound editing to the ships phaser sound, 2 balsts instead of one, should be pretty simple imo. Oh and: @reference=256 #2 Shot phaser wred_2phas wred_2phas 0 0 256 64 @anim=tex1x4
