Okay, I just reinstalled A2, but after I installed the patch 1.1, A2 wouldnt let me play anymore. Whenever I start an instant action, a dialog box appears saying "You need your own CD to play". I mean WTF? This has never happened to me before.

your cd player doesent recognize the cd. it is either the players driver (bad!) or a scratch on the armada cd (worse!). try clean it.

So you need to put the cd in while you play?

Yeah, but I have been looking at trying to find a way to have the CD on my harddrive just in case the cd breaks. No such luck so far.

I believe daemon tools and nero could help you there. Copy the A2 CD to an ISO image (or better an MDS as it stores the disc security) and then run it through daemon tools CD Emulation. Bingo, A2 CD on your Hard Drive

Yep, I use something called Sonic Recordnow to copy the cd to an imagine on my hard drive then I mount it as a virtual drive using alcohol 120%. And if you were to ever break or your game or wanted some extra copies you could always burn a few! :p

Under UK law your quite entitled to make and use a backup copy of your CD. Personally I think its well worth doing, A2 is awfully expensive these days.

Well, my disk was scratched pretty bad to the point where it couldn't be read. I just used car wax, buffed it up, and it's back to working condition.
