Wouldn't it be cool if someone did some Wing Commander, the movie, ships? I am trying to learn how to do some modeling and such but it is gonna take me forever to figure anything out.

I think it would be fun to use the Tiger's Claw and her Rapiers and Broadswords in A2.

Thanks

Aha now that's a movie I haven't seen in a while. If I could even remember what half the ships looked like in that, I'd be happy. I'm quite amazed no-one has actually done any :uhm: Other than that, all I can say is keep modding and don't stop, trust me it'll come to you in no time at all :nodding:

Wing Commander (1999) is somewhat different from the games. There is an A1 mod that was about 75% complete but the team disbanded and no contact with all but one member is possible.

The movie came after the games. Wing commanders 1-2 were just bog standard arcade shooters from the DOS era really, however Origin actually built a film studio along with their game programming setup for the wing commander games and they included something like ten hours of video footage each. It was pretty impressive ten years ago...

WC3 and 4 were great and the videos side of the game which covered the storyline was fantastic. WC Prophecy was (in my opinion) awful. The film wing commander was started on after WCP had been out for a while.

The film wing commander was pretty rubbish in my opinion. Mark Hammill (luke skywalker from star wars) played Blair in the wing commander games and this part was played by someone completely random in the film. In fact, likewise with every character that you recognised from the games.

Why is it that every film based on a game changes like - EVERYTHING - ? Surely the film execs would realise that the only people interested in watching a film based on a game are the people that played the game and keep things faithfull to it.

Anyway, if you have a joystick and your interested in playing a little something then I suggest trying this fairly recently released mod:-

RELEASE - The Price of Freedom

See if you recognise any of the actors from WC4:- :)

Spoiler: Show

I don't suppose you'd be willing to try and get a hold of the mod?, and with permission of whoever you can contact release it to the community.
