Just to let everyone know, Year of Fire is still happening, and I've been meaning to wrap up that little Bsg mod. Part of the lack of recent progress stems from the fact that my new computer can't run Armada, and so since I've been using it... A lot more than my laptop recently, I haven’t been modding as much. I will get back to regular work once the balance shifts and I start using them equally again.

Another factor is that the Mod serves as a combat simulator for the actual universe, which I have been working a little more on recently. Rest assured, the completion of both is a personal requirement, so sooner or later the mod will exist for eeeveryone.

incidentally, something some of you might be interested in, I've made an actual website to that end, albeit temporary. It's actually mostly stuff I think anyone who has looked at the mod profile has seen, but hey, it should one day develop into the full version, so enjoy. The Forest Cluster

So basically, still alive, still modding, still going to finish... One day.

Just taking a shot in the dark here, but I noticed from some of your CGI shots that there'sa particular style and motion with the ships and way the weapons fire; you're nota Babylon 5 fan, are you? That's not bad if you are, cause, I like it too. There's a little section where two destroyer's of yours are taking on a cruiser and they both evade its main beam and one of them turns on a dime and shoots back. I've only ever seen something like that in Babylon 5 and it's usually pretty kick ass.

Love the website. Not all the embed's are working for me, but, my internet connection is being stupid, so I can't tell if that is your side or mine. The content is also really quite funny.

Yea, I think you like B5 too. The fact that I saw interceptors there in the first vid, which I never noticed before, is a concept from B5 as far as I know. Assuming they are interceptors lol. I must say, its looking great and its one of the mods I'm looking most forward to.

Cool Website. That's some nice CGI you've posted. I did notice one thing though-the 'Rebels' have Food bodies, yet they have Muffin ears. Hmm?

Are you still planning on releasing the mod this year?

Anything is possible.

The Joelteon7you're nota Babylon 5 fan, are you?

The whole B5 look is something I'm actually trying to move away from a little more recently, symply because it is very distinctly B5, and I don't want to just be ripping something else off. One important reason may be that this is simply what not very good cg looks like, a theme shared with both my work and b5's :P

On the subject, weapons shooting down incoming weapons is not new in sci-fi, almost all of them have weapons that do that, especialls Bsg, starwars, others. And more importantly, the concept exists on modern navy ships, in the form of the CWIS Phalanx gun, or for shooting down rounds, experimental laser cwis mounted on the same turret.

B5s CGI served the story, and it still holds up to this day... and the way someone animates something really has nothing to do with it being good or bad. Rabid rolls is just how its been animated, it has nothing to do with "quality". Which by the way, I happen to think the quality of your CGI and mod is top notch.

Ok maybe I wasn't thinking about other things, I was just awake lol. Still, love the CGI and gameplay videos itself =]
