Last weekend I came up with an idea and started working on it.
Does any one have TMP era vibes?
So I decided to start to make a small mod set in the TMP era. Now this project will take a back seat to Parallels as Parallels is still the main mod in my priorites list and will continue to stay that way.
Now back to the TMP mod.
It will include 3 races.
1. The United Federation of Planets 2. The Klingon Empire 3. The Romulan Star Empire
I plan on the mod being set a few years after Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country, thus the Klingons and Federation are at peace, but there is a rogue Klingon house out there attacking the Federation as they see the peace as a bad idea. This house will have different texture ships.
After reading that you can tell I am planning a campaign. This is sort of a way to get to know how to edit campaigns for Parallels.
All I will say about the campaign at this time is that Durus wasn't the first Klingon to conspire with the Romulans. :p
Now some model screenshots. I know thats what you have all been waiting for. These will be included if the required permissions can be obtained.
There are more, but thats enough for now. I almost have the Romulans combats ships completed (including a Romulan Sparrow Hawk with new 512x512 textures), they only require hardpointing. I am also thinking about adding glows to the models, never done that before so that is secondary on my to do list.
I also have a Constitution heavy cruiser, polly reduced to 2300 pollies. I am currently texturing her with another sfc3 models textures. Again permission has to be obtained before I can/will use them.
Due to the time era, the heavy ships (ie the Battleships) will be few and far between. You will have to mainly rely on your cruisers to win the day.
Also there won't be as many types of ships in the mod. I have removed the Assault and Special/Support ships from the mod, I never use them personally. All ships will be stronger, not too sure about multi-targeting weapons yet either, again due to the time period. Special weapons are again not decided on, I plan to include some but not sure how many and what ships will get them.
Comments and suggestions are always welcome, but don't expect this to be done in a flash, it does take a back seat to Parallels, Federations and B5: Age of Expansion (When we start major work on it after Parallels).
Well, two (plus) projects on the go. Not only do you have Parallels, but this, and you are working here and there with various other projects. If you aren't careful, you'll overwork yourself :lol: - It would be nice to get at least one of your projects released in the near future :p Anyway, it sounds pretty good. There aren't a lot of early modifications, most are set in and after the Dominion War, or some time way in the future. It's nice to go back on occasion. I must ask though, what are the poly counts on them Excelsiors? (If around 1000, do you think you'd be able to pop them my way) ;) - I'm having trouble getting the ones I have poly reduced (chances are, you are using the same ones, in which case we are both stuck) :p I must say however, that 2300 polies for a Constitution, isn't that a little on the high side?

Constitutions are Heavy Cruisers. You'll most likely be seeing Miranda's and Akula's stuck in there :) I will, however, complement you incredibly if you add the Federation Ulysses Class Dreadnaught...I will be oh so happy (she be my favourite Fed. ship)

I personally like the Yamato-class and the KB10/11 Battleships (yes, I like ungodly high firepower) Also, the Fed Frigates from SFC were good looking too.
Nice. Are they all going to be SFC3 conversions?
Sorry Ash the Excelsiors are much higher in pollies, but thats okay for this mod as it is a TMP era mod and are the biggest and most powerful ships for the Federation. If they were at the 1000 mark I would send them to you. But with those models I see 1000 as a little unrealistic, no offense intented in anyway shape or form. :)
Like I said this mod takes a back seat to Parallels, just gives me something to do. Currently Elevatormusic is helping me by making TMP era GUI's and weapons, so that help is greatly appreicated.
Over working myself, nah, I am only doing two mods and helping out on 3 other projects/mods and run a website. I can't model much, only kitbash and convert so the only thing I can do with Parallels is the coding, graphics and the kitbashes of the Peacekeeper units. Anyway there has been some major changes in the way Parallels is going to be produced (ie some priorties have been changed), I am keeping that out of the publics eye for the time being, whoos did I mentioned that, oh well after the complaints with the POTD I really am not all that interested in letting the juicy news out for a while.
I have no intention on getting this mod out quick, its a small modification, each race has 9 combat ships and 4 non-combat ships. As far as stations, I am not planning on the super station and I may only be including one turret, but apart from that I am planning on having all the other stations in there. Again I may cut back more including considering only have one research station.

And yes the Constitutions are heavy cruisers and as such will be the most massed produced ships in the mod, again these poly counts are fine due to this being a TMP mod, if it was a TNG mod I would be thinking differently of course.
I am looking in may areas for the models Greathor. I want the ships to match each other, ie a Miranda textures match a Constitutions etc. I have found that SFC models are the best in terms of polly counts and texture details though.

The B10/11, plus variants/kitbashes will be in it but will not have god like powers, some will only appear in the campaign and other will be buildable by the Klingons. They will be the Klingon Battleships to counter the Romulan Firehawks and Megahawks as well as the Federation Excelsiors.
Hello: Your ships are marvelous, I'm really looking forward to play with the Klingon Raptor Class. Do you have a release date, or not yet? Keep it up! the mod is very cool
