Ok, I'm having a sort of mid-life crisis here (just in the form of a modification rather than reality). This problem being the storyline for which Zero Hour will focus around. I've got three choices, and I can't decide between them. If I do, I end up changing my mind. Its getting rather frustrating.
There are three choices.
Choice #1:

This would focus on the Klingon-Cardassian War (before the actual 'Dominion War') and wouldn't include any of the more advanced starships. Thus, no Norexan, no Sovereign, no Prometheus. More older vessels (such as the Constitution, Miranda & Ambassador) would be used. Likewise, this would have Dukat as the Cardassian Commander, and an Excelsior Class as the 'Hero Unit' for the Federation. Think late-TNG / early-DS9 for this choice.

Choice #2:

This choice would be within the Dominion War and would include everything we saw within. Though we didn't see the Norexan, Sovereign & Prometheus in the actual War, they will serve as playable units, quite possibly alongside the Constitution & Ambassador (being the older and less-used ships).

For the Cardassian Hero Unit, I'm unsure as to whether I'd have Dukat or Dammar. Again, I also have this problem with the Klingons. Do I have Gowron, or Martok? - The Federation (should I go with this choice) would have an Intrepid as the 'Hero Unit' - Those Intrepid Lovers out there, don't get too excited, I'm going to make it shit :p

Before anyone comes up with the bright idea of having both Dukat & Dammar, along with Gowron & Martok, whilst it would sort out the problem of selection, I'm only having one Hero per side, so I need to decide between them.

Choice #3:

This would be after the Dominion War, no Miranda, or K't'inga, just the top-line ships (All what existed after Nemesis).
I think I'm slightly swaying toward Choice #2 at the moment. Choice #3 seems too boring, or at least, there would be nothing new to do. Many projects that have been released, or of which are going to be released are in and after Nemesis. I want something different. The first choice, whilst it would work well, it rules out the point of having the Dominion & Breen as eventual playable races (the Dominion & Breen aren't really there in the Klingon-Cardassian War, especially the Breen). Anyway, I've added a Poll, hopefully I can get some insight here. I'd also ask (for those of you that read this and vote) that you state who you'd like to see out of:
- Gowron OR Martok and
- Dukat OR Dammar
Obviously, if we have Martok then we have to have Dammar as Martok gets to be the Chancellor when Dammar is the Cardassian Leader.
I choose after both wars (Choice 3). Have something different, something that goes a little off canon. Perhaps a renewed Breen threat, or a invasion from the Delta Quadrant, like the Vauadawar or something. Zero Hour is already a great mod from what I have read and seen, but I would like to see a storyline that is unique and not seen before. As for the Cardassian and Klingon Heros. If you have option 3 then Martok and Damar (thats how it's spelt I am pretty sure). With option one, Dukat and Gorwon, but if you go with option 2 then it could either be Grown and Dukat, Growon and Damar or Martok and Damar. Since I choose option three I would go for Damar and Martok. I know Damar was killed at the end of DS9, but hey the Cardassians may have gotten some Dominion cloning tech from the Dominion when they withdrew from Cardassian space after the War.
in my opinion, too many people do after the war..(the mods get very same'y) so for somthing different, The Klingon-Cardassian War. or the dom war :)thats just my opinion
id say do it during the dominion war. AS for the Heros Dukat was the Hero during the dominion wart, Damar didnt really gain any fame till the last few months. and AS for Klingons i would have to go with Martok. He was in the thick of the fighting a lot more then Gowron was.

Ive said it before and ill say it again, ZH should be set during the Dominion War:nodding:
Why not got for about 20 years after the war, that way you can have the feel (ie the ships etc) that you want, but it will allow you to branch out into totally different directions without being restricted by cannon, I would even go as far as saying possibly introducing another/new race as the enemy, that way there is no danager of the mod getting boring, and how about new heros, give the mod a life of its own, take a page out of the new frontier books, its a new ship, new crew, new threat, and trek regulars cameo in it, but are not major players, just a thought.
I agree to CDP. Dominion War and aftermath is quite boring already.
I did vote for the Cardassioan-Klingon War.
DW sounds like the best bet as that is the period with the most content, and I think you should have Damar and Martok :D

Thanks for the input, but I don't want to be jumping into the future too much. I'm sticking with this era. Anyway, expect me to finalise this later on, or over the weekend. There is one possible option of which only three people (myself included) know about. We'll see anyway ;) Expect an update. Soon...
I didn't make it!
1) Which one is the furthest along to completion? 2) Which one has the fewest problems as regards the storyline? 3) Which one is the easiest for you to finish? And now the real question: Which one does SupaStar Ash like the best? That's the one that will be the best of the the three and the one he will put his best effort into.
