OK, we have a small group of folks who play my mod and 2 folks amongst them play it on laptops and have been having issues with the cursor. So I installed it on my fiancee's laptop and I got the same problem. The cursor doesn't appear in game until you manage to select a ship or station, then the little green movement or rally point cursor appears. I never altered anything to do with the cursor's in my mod. But to be sure I went back and tried a clean all stock version of A2 on the laptop and yet again nor cursor. So what did I do wrong? Because the issue with the cursor is making it hard for my friends to stay competitative in multiplayer games and they are getting frustrated enough that I worry they may quit. So any help would be extremely appreciated!
Asynchronous cursor problem? I have to leave mine off or I get a video freezeup though the game continues. It's very annoying.
It could also be the input.map file has been edited so now there's a dual purpose to selecting an object. Just a guess.
Its probably a glitch with the cut down graphics cards laptops use. If the kids suggestion doesn't work just shout, If the cursor shows for the animations when a ship is selected then its going to be the particular type of animation the selection cursor uses, and we can change that to resolve it.
Thing is it even doesn't show up in a pure stock clean install. Which is bizarre to me.
Yeah, mobile graphics cards have always had little glitches like that. Try changing the animation type to 5x1 instead of 4x2, I have a hunch that will work. (it seems to for all of your other animations)
I ran A2 on my ancient Dell laptop, XP SP3 and in works with a cursor.
