Warborg;4959615Also you could mix up "teams" . Example: You are Federation, your ally is Klingon. Your enemies are Borg and Romulan... however the Klingon are allies with the Romulans but enemies to the Borg. The Borg are allies to the Romulans but enemies to the Federation and Klingon. It made it interesting because if the Romulans were attacking you the Klingons would not help but if the Borg were attacking you...they would help.

But it doesn't make a difference!

The AI is so awfully atrocious that you can put seven of them all on hard and on the same team and still beat them without being in any serious danger of losing.

*Raises hand* Umm...I practically always get beaten by a single stock hard AI... But saying that, I can beat three of the ones from B5 A2 in under an hour. I'm quite pleased with that :nodding:.

:Puzzled: I... I., um. What do you people do against my AI's, and what do you think of them? I've seriously been looking at them as being pretty pathetic; the only one i've ever really been happy with is the fed06 AI in Vanilla Ultimate.

And would some Armada II strategy guides be of any interest to anybody?

I haven't had a chance to test your AI yet, but I've got them downloaded and ready to install. I think the main problem with the stock AI is that there's no strategy. I could slowly build up raiding parties and small fleets of all different ships only to be beaten by a massed wall of turrets and a swarm of battleships... I must just have some strange ability that prevents me from beating the AI. I can do it on most over games I've played. Oh well, I rarely play stock so no great problem ;) I wouldn't mind a strategy guide, but it would have to be pretty universal I should imagine - every mod does things differently after all; and most people likely play some TC or personal mod... P.S. The AI in Fleetops is also quite easy prey on Hard. Well, two of 'em are. Any more than that and I have maybe a one in three chance of winning at best.

Seriously? There are things we expect an AIP to be and do. We also expect we can plan and play far better than some stupid AI. Yours are at least an order of magnitude better than the stock ones. This makes them challenging and rewarding to play against. I expect to win against a Stock AIP. I do not do this against yours. I'd say, "YESSSS!" to something like this. I am certain others would as well. But only if you wrote it or at a minimum oversaw the project with final say as to content. And while I am wishing, I'd like it in PDF format with lots and lots of pictures. But hey, we all know how pushy and demanding I can be, correct? :p Kidding aside, if you decide to do this, I will volunteer to help when and where I can. If you include a section of how not to play, I'll be your huckleberry. (Thanks for letting me be able to sneak in a Tombstone/Val Kilmer reference. Just watched it again recently.)

Not with some of the mods (AI), I've made. I've been wiped off the "Armada Map" in 30 minutes before with just 1 AI
