been playing through the single player missions and decided to add a couple of things to the game... i have only added "Wave of death" and now when i try to start single or skirmish it will load then crash back to desktop and say its out of swap file memory... now my swap file is at about 2-3 gigs of space... any idea why its not working...
I've seen this happen before myself. When it happened to me, it ended up being an AIP file that had some bad lines in it. In the AIP file in question, there was either an extra or missing quotation mark (") or a missing comma in the build list area of the AIP file. This has also happened with techtree files not being setup right.
Example of bad techtree entries (that WILL cause a crash):
fbattle.odf 1 fyard.odf fyard2.odf ^ In that example, a 1 is stated, yet there are two items listed afterwards.
Things like that can create swap file-related errors, eventhough it's not a swap-file related issue that happened, just a bad statement in an AIP or techtree. But if a weapon quoted in an odf file refers to a file that doesn't exist, it could also happen then.
The problem is usually a missing quote, like this "
Yes, that's the simpler way of saying it :p me = :0wned:
I have not modded my game at all, in reinstalled to verify and it gives me the out of memory increase file size. Everything is as it was on the disc.
Are you on 64 bit operating system, or on Vista/Win7/Win8? And have you installed patch 1.2.5? :) As far as I remember, this bug was an issue that occurred in stock (not patched to 1.2.5) versions of Armada II.
