In my (albeit humble and limited) experience, the AIs only seem to use latinum to build things that need latinum. Although the do sell/buy metal/dilithium to buy/sel dilithium/metal, they do not seem to collect latinum to buy metal/dilithium.
Am I correct? If so, are there any AIs out there that uses latinum more "intelligently" especially when, for example, dilithium and metal are scarce?
AI must use latinium. Klingon's need it for research. (can't remember if any other races do off the top of my head.)
Also in FO beta two the resource tritainium they made based off of latinium
What he means is, the AI will mine Latinum when it needs Latinum to build something but it won't use any surplus to purchase needed metal or dilithium. I am not sure if there are any ways around it.
It doesnt have to because the bloody AI cheats like hell anyway.
Thank you Squire and Major.
I guess it is safe to conclude that all that stuff is hard coded. Its a shame. Things are different in the open source world of c-evo: the ai's must abide by the same rules as a human player and cannot query or manipulate any parts of the "main game" (ie cheat) if it gives an unfair advantage. Then again, c-evo is simply just nowhere near as fun as A2!
I don't suppose anyone has tried petitioning the A2 makers to open up their code?? You never know--- I saw a pig fly the other day.
Major: As for the ai's cheating... in what way? When the metal and dilithium is sparse (or expired) they do at least seem to manage not to make any new ships.
