Hi, I am hoping someone here can help.

I am playing Armada 1 and for the first time downloaded the old Empires and Federations mod to try it. I want to game back to original but the mod always reappears. It changes the title page to say "empires and federations crossover" by APOC entertainment.

I'm using Vista.

I tried the mod uninstall, it then disappears from the add/remove program list, but the mod persists in the game.

I have uninstalled Armada, then deleted the activision file, then any mods, additions, maps, downloads related to Armada I could find, cleared the cache, temp files, shut down/restarted, reinstalled Armada many times, it works fine in orig. state after the new install, but then the mod reappears if I shut down the program and restart Armada. It's driving me nuts. I don't know where it's hiding.

Please help, thanks!

Does JUST the splash screen stay, or do all the new units/stations stick around too? It's entirely possible the uninstaller didn't take, and you'll have to poke around in your game to remove the mod manually.

Hi, the entire game is in it's modified state, but only after I shut down Armada after it's initial reinstall, then start it up again.

I have also tried reinstalling the mod with a new uninstaller to no avail. Same behavior, it disappears from the add/remove list, but won't go away.

How do I know which files I'm supposed to manually delete? And I have a feeling they would still reappear.

Hmmm... Now, I don't know as much about modding A1 as A2, but you would have to return ALL the sprite and techtree files to the stock, as well as the shipyards, starbases, and construction ships. I'm not sure where to find them in A1 though, as I specialize in modding A2.

How about installing A1, then deleting the Activision folder instead of Add/Remove prgrams. That way, EVERYTHING has gone. If not, see if the files the MOD uses are in a sperate directory, Midnight Universe can be launched from the Start menu, so this MOD may be similar. Another method, if you have a second PC, install A1 onto it, check it runs ok, then transport it back onto the PC with the Modded A1, then simply replace the directory with the fresh A1. If that doesn't work then somehow the MOD is communicating with A1 from a seperate location.

I don't know what it is, I doubt it will be that, just a theory at this point, but a complete clearout of the Activision folder should have corrected the problem. The TT's and Sprites are clean off the disk, brand new, they shouldn't be any different.

i would pull a simple switch go to the activision folder and right-click on the Star trek armada folder, rename it to whatever (just add a single letter to it) the open up yor D drive and run the setup if all works out well you should have 2 A1 folders the new clean one and the old F****D up on (<--naughty :D) run the new A1 it should work fine and dandy if so all you need to do is remove the other A1 folder and it should work fine

Hope this helped ^_^ and that i dont get scolded :)

Hi, thanks for the suggestions. However maybe I did it wrong, still comes back.

I installed A1, then renamed the Armada folder, deleted the old one, uninstalled then reinstalled the A1 game. I deleted the new Armada folder, and then renamed the old one as Star Trek - Armada as the game installer names it. The mod gets added in while the game is being loaded, as if I hadn't done anything. I compared the files and didn't see anything different in them (not that there couldn't be, I just didn't see any difference), nor did I see any sprites, wav files, race names that would indicate the mod files were present in there.

stubborn lil thing isnt it...? have you tried just moving the files to another location (i mod alot so my STA folders are on by desktop)

though i have to admit its weird...... with the Admins permission

(SFK to be specific)

i would like to post a backup fresh file to A2F

(a zipped file containing the stock addon folder, bzn, texture, sprite, etc) and only containing those
