Well, I reinstalled Armada 1, and the sound is screwed up. The music skips forward, and so does the unit speech. Does anyone have an idea?

start -> run -> type "dxdiag", go to the sound tab, move the hardware sound acceleration level to the left (no acceleration). you should move the slider back after you played armada.

Try underclocking your processor if you have anything above 1Ghz, I have a 2.4 and the sound/music skips for me too.

Nah, 900Mhz

I shouldn't have to do that sort of thing anyway. It is just a bad program. I have 3d games much older then that that run fine. Total Annihilation for example, it runs better and better as computers get better.

Because it is a Star Trek game and they knew they would sell a certain number because of the fan base, they didn't need to make it well. And, they knew that they could send the full and finished version of Armada as Armada II and rip everyone off again.

I am convinced that the problem is Activision, look at what they did to the SFC series. SFC3 is another unfinished release full of bugs and no official patches. I don't buy Activision anything anymore.

i have the same problem on my new pc... i install armada 1 and a well known mod. Millenium project 1.9se and it worked always. When i play, the music is normal but then if you click on a ship and lets say it says "your ship is damaged" then it says "your ship..." it just stops and go and the music is also skippy... Are these the same problems as above?
