I have a A64 2.5 Ghz 3200, a geforce 6800GT pcie, Dx9.0c, nvidia driver 77.77 (installed with DC3 so no leftover old driver), and of course xp sp2, and i cannot get past anything, when i launch the game (even in compatibility mode) the thing goes to 800x600 and then exits... nothing showed up.. this is with patched 1.2 version, and non patched 1.0 version. o and i tried the compatibility mode upon install thing too, still not working in xp... i'm starting to think i have to break out my virtual PC thing and install a copy of my old 98SE or 2000 on it and hope the virtual hardware will run it.......

Hang on. There is no 1.2 patch for Armada 2, only Armada 1. Which game version do you mean?

Either way, it says on the boxes of both Armada 1 and 2 that they are not recommended for Windows XP.

Armada 2 runs with a really low frame rate on my XP comp, and Armada has this bug where the screen will randomly start rotating by it'self. The way to stop that is to press the rotate button in the direction it is going in.

None of the patches for both games fixed these problems.

However, both games work fine on the 98SE computer.

I have XP home SP2 and A2 runs perfect, try what Cecilzero1 said, that should fix your problem. Also your vid drivers sound a little out of date but that may just be me imagining things.

still no go, i did all that under compatibility for 2000, my drivers are a bit of old, the newer ones are lik 81.** but that shouldn't be a problem i think

nope at 98/Mellium Edition the thing is still bad, time to try lower the video accel or something, the game dosen't even launch as far as i can tell, it only gets to the video player, is there any way to bypass the opening cinematics?
