No. The game requires a boot CD in some form of optical drive.

yeah i know that i've got a copy coming to me from a seller on ebay in the next few days. i just need to know if i could transfer the game data that you install onto the computer over to a usb memory stick or a portable hard drive and still have the game run when i use the optical disc. my own fault for not explaining properly sry

Oh. Absolutely. I have several copies of A2 on a portable hard drive. I haven't had A2 on an actual drive within my computer in years. You just need to make sure your program shortcuts reference the right drive letter, or start the program within the directory on the memory stick instead of use a shortcut. Windows doesn't allocate the same drive letter to different memory sticks every time.

well starting from the flash drive would b easy enough since i'll be allocating each modded version its own folder as i go. i've been having some computer problems so it's been a while since i played armada. but the fun will begin when i get the disc
