On my A2 cd, when installing it gets to the point where it reads the texture.dat file. While its doing that it has an error where it has trouble reading the file from the cd  . I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this-- a possible fix would be for someone to send me the texture.dat file from the cd and then I burn a new cd with the "new" texture file on it-- I really want to play Star Trek Armada 2 :uhm: :( :uhm:
i can email the file to you if you like. just post your address and i'll send it.
Is the disc scratched
One thing you might try is a different CD drive. As Armad2 asked, is the disc scratched? If it is, you might try reading the CD from a CDR/RW drive or even a DVD drive. They have better capabilities for reading CDs than just a plain CD drive. I have a No One Lives Forever Disc set that has a scratch on disc 1. It won't read in a plain drive, but goes just fine in my burner drive. Try that.
Captain Steve- E-mail is in sig
Armad2- Scrathed, yes-- but texture.dat is the only corrupted file Operator- Tried both drives before I posted
The only other two things you can try that I can think of, is 1) try your CD in a friend's Computer drive, 2) take the disc to a reputable place that can polish the scratch out of the surface provided it's not too deep.
can some1 send me a file called "a2_borg08_intro2_pic_2.bik" because i was reinstalling A2 then when i tried to reinstall it it got to like 5% then it said like that file is messed up i think,

Try to reinstall again. If it worked the first time it should again unless there is a lot of damage done to the CD. Other than that asking for game files is discouraged on the forums.
and it still says that
