Is there any way to disable the GUI in the demo version of the game? I've tried hitting I, Alt+I, Ctrl+I, I^2, nothing works, which is fraking irritating, seeing as how the demo is all I have until the copy of the full game I ordered arrives from Amazon in about two weeks, and I'd like some pics without the interface in the way. I suppose they just kinda left that out?

Good question. We haven't really done enough playing around with the demo to know ourselves.

You can find out though.

In the full version the keyboard inputs are defined in a file called input.map in the main directory. Take a look and see if this file does exist, I can't see why it wouldn't.

If it does, try adding this code to it.

###################### # Interface Elements # ###################### # Toggle fog of war tactical_shroud_toggle { + keyboard F - keyboard Control - keyboard Shift + keyboard Alt }

# Grid toggle grid_toggle { + keyboard G - keyboard Control - keyboard Shift + keyboard Alt }

# Objectives Dialog objectives_toggle { + keyboard O - keyboard Control - keyboard Shift + keyboard Alt }

# Interface toggle toggle_interface { + keyboard I + keyboard Control - keyboard Shift - keyboard Alt }

It might not work and could cause the game to crash, so keep a copy of the unedited file so you can replace it if it doesn't work. It all depends if the executable needed code changes to add it in. If it did, it won't work and if it didn't then it will.

And, could you let us know what happens for future reference?

Alright, I tried putting in that code, and it launched just fine. The commands for toggling the grid and objectives panel worked, but the interface still couldn't be disabled. I'm guessing they didn't even code that possible function into the demo, which quite frankly is pretty stupid. It's not a terribly difficult thing for the developers to include, why not put it in?
