I'm having this problem when I go to install the game, the setup screen comes on as normal but when u you click on install, it does the install shield thing then it stops there. This error just happened after I uninstalled the game because I was going to install another mod under a fresh install. Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you remove all traces of the previous installation (also check for any remaining registry entries)?? Did you try to update your install shield files from MS website (I think you can update the installer)??

Might I make a suggestion that once you do manage to re-install the game, update it to v1.1 and then zip the entire A2 directory. You can then safely back this zip archive up and install as many copies from it as you like. You'll still need the original cd to actually play, but you can add as many mods as installations as you like.

The major is correct rgcsg1, almost any of the mods that you will download will always stress to you to back up any files that are to be changed. This would especially be true if you were installing a mod over another mod. You might have files that aren't even on the Armada CD because they are part of something you've modded. So you install another mod and it overwrites all the work you did. But if you backup, you can always revert back.

Thanks for the help guys, sorry I couldn't reply sooner. I did however manage to get the game reinstalled so I'll be sure to make a zip copy and update my windows installer. I just don't see how it would affect the setup files on the cd-rom, I've had this error before on another of my games and I solved it by running quick restore, so thanks again for saving me a lot of time and effort.

More than likely the problem lies in the registry in most cases. Many games have incomplete uninstall routines. Meaning they leave what I call "breadcrumbs" behind. They are supposed to help if the game is ever reinstalled again, but sometimes do more harm than good. When you use your quick restore, it's rolling back your registry.
