Please can some-one help! I have almost mastered the AIP files, however I think the way I am setting the files out is wrong - the game crashes when I load the new race or have them to play against. I.e. Do you follow the exact way the original races are laid out? **********[CARDASSIAN SHIPS]********** cdestroy.odf 1 cresear.odf //cardassian destroyer *********[NEW RACE]****************** Does the same thing apply for the AIP build list and gui-global?? Edit: Please can some-one help! Do you follow the exact way the original races are laid out? Same distance (so they align) or can I just add the name? **********[CARDASSIAN SHIPS]********** cdestroy.odf 1 cresear.odf //cardassian destroyer *********[NEW RACE]****************** pdestroy.odf 1 presear.odf // polly destroyer Does the same thing apply for the AIP build list and gui-global??

ErrJust a thought, Would it matter where in the file I place the new race? For the tech tree files I usually made the new race the last, then followed by the hero stuff. Or should I add the additions after the hero? For gui global I added my new race after 8472. The system still reads the entire lines, so place really shouldn't matter - right??

As far as I know, it doesn't matter where you put entries in a file. Unless it has a #reference entry (like in the sprite files).

But, just to be sure, I always keep the same relative format. I.E.: list them in the same order, and in the same places, in the tech files as you do in the AI files.
