After I downloaded and installed the mod art of war I found that I have no idea how to find the art of war within the game so that I can enjoy this mod. I also found that when I decided to replay the campaigns that I did not have the ability to build starships in either campaign. Did the mod install wrong, or is it that I can't play the single player campaigns anymore. Why is that. Any help that you guys can give me would be appreciated. Other than that from what I've seen I like what has been done the improvements to the single player campaigns. I've been thinking do I play the art of war mod through the multiplayer area?
Most of the mods - including Art of War doesn't bother about campaign. These mods mess up the game if you try to play them, because they use different techtrees to the SP missions. If you want to "enjoy" the mod, you have to play single player skirmish missions. But don't forget that Armada II doesn't support multiple mods like for example Europa Universalis II does, so if you installed more than one mods in the same install of Armada II, you may also experience CTD in skirmishes.
Mods are usually designed for Instant Action, if you go into there you'll be be able to play it.
Its not working in the campaign because a lot of the things will have been changed around, you can probably get the campaign working again by copying the contents of the tech1.tt into each of the campaign tech trees (ie, fed01.tt, fed02.tt, etc)
thank you, I uninstalled everything then reinstalled armada 2. I installed the patch 1.1 then patch 1.2.5.
Now I installed Ghost's Compilation mod, the thing is that I've been playing the federation single player and everything was working find and then I got to the mission for "along the neutral zone" everything works fine until the enterprise shows up. What do I mean. I'll try to explain.
You know when the enterprise shows up and there is a little cutscene with the enterprise and picard speaking, well during that cutscene the little window on the lower right hand corner shows up during the enterprise cutscene and picard says thanks for repairing the ship, the enterprise is sufficeintly repaired to go thru the nebula and then the game crashes?
That's because of how the campaign works, actually. The replacement Enterprise has more hitpoints than the stock Enterprise, so the arrival of the ship means the objective (of gettting the Enterprise strong enough to withstand the effects of the nebula) is already completed (because the Enterprise is already strong enough thanks to the modding).
This was why, in putting together the Starbase 34 Federation Compilation Mod, we decided to NOT replace the stock ships and stations. In theory, the campaign should still be completely playable (although this has never been officially tested) since none of the vessels or stations involved were modified in any way. We just added a separate Starfleet race structure and modified the stock 'fed.odf' race instead. All our ships and stations start with "fed" rather than just the letter "f", and use the actual ship name-- so for example, "fcruise1" in Ghost's compilation mod is the same ship as "fedakira" in the Starbase 34 compilation mod, although obviously the latter uses a far newer model of the Akira class starship.
I'm not implying that the 34 mod is a solution, just explaining why that would be a problem and cause a crash.

No, the entire mod is different. It's a separate take on the same concept.
we just had a wider resource pool to choose from :)... oh and I think Ghost gets props for doing it all by his lonesome.

Neither did any of us when we first started out tinkering with the game. The Starbase34 Comp Mod can be staggeringly overwhelming for someone new to modding A2, despite all the generous help available. Modding does get easier with time. I suggest trying to add something smaller to your game like a ship or two. The primary difference between adding on the SB34 Comp Mod and a single ship is one of scale, rather than complexity.
In answer to your question about Ghost's Comp Mod. Nothing in the SB34 Comp Mod looks like what Ghost did. The SB34 members did a great many things differently, from textures with registries removed, to completely redone ODFs, and of course the physics and weapons files. Although he did do everything by himself, there are a great many flaws and bugs in Ghost's work. He also was determined to include everything available for the Dominion at the time of him working on his mod. The SB34 Comp Mod is Starfleet-specific only.
I downloaded the Borg Armada III Concept Tactical Cube, I followed the instructions for installation but I also left the stock tactical borg cube file because I don't know all of the tactical borg files so that I can remove them. Unless the Concept Tactical Cube will work regardless because it overwrites the stock tactical cube? When I installed the concept tactical borg cube in the textures/rgb it didn't ask me to over write the stock tactical borg cube. Though I overwritten the Sod and Odf files. Do I need to worry about the Textures/Rgb tactical borg cube texture/textures?
