After reading a couple threads about hex editors a while back, I downloaded one and would like to ask a few questions. Can a hex editor be used to: -Change the color of a sod? (model has a green tint for some reason insead of being white) -Change the sod brightness / sensitivity to light sources? -Make a sod accept Lightmaped textures when it normally doesn't? Are these things even possible with a hex editor, or are they only possible with modeling software like milkshape3D?

Are you sure that the color isin't controlled by the textures?

As far as i'm aware there are two options. On, or Off.

You can set a model to accept Phong lighting by this method. [QUOTE=LineBoreal;5250465] Are these things even possible with a hex editor, or are they only possible with modeling software like milkshape3D?

Personally, I think you'd find it easier with a modelling program with a texture editor where appropriate rather than trying to do hex editing.

How does that work? I've been trying to do that for months!

Basically, just change the lighting scheme from "opaque" to "phong " (or whatever the lighting scheme was). Note the extra space after phong, you must maintain the number of characters or things will fall apart.

It was discussed a few years back. I've got a long memory. =p
